The Great Re-Invite Debacle Part 2!
Just to refresh your memories here regarding this subject:-

    "Re-invites are still a joke!

I have been banging on about this subject for some considerable time now and STILL nothing has been done to address the problem.

    A) Re-invites function only allows the last 200 hundred invites to be resent (or so the screen page states); and
    B) Re-invites are sorted into alpha order so they are not necessarily the latest invites sent.

Despite a few responses from the team along the lines of 'thanks for highlighting this issue' and 'we really appreciate the feedback' up`to now it's been zero constructive response.

I might as well go away and forget about the blasted matter (which is probably what you want me to do anyway)."

    Hey Mark,

"We will have a resolution for this in next Wednesday's release! Sorry i was a bit vague last time but sometimes we have to reshuffle priorities."

    Cheers

Fortunately I did not "hold my breath" as I would have died of asphyxiation days ago.

As usual, sweet FA has been done about this issue and even as I write the 'View Invited Contacts' is completely inaccessible in Transdivine. Does this mean you are actually working on this part of the site or is it just a figment of my overstretched imagination?

    Yours sincerely,

from a breathless, annoyed and frustrated moderator,

    Mark.

Mark Palmer replied on May 11, 2009 13:10 to the question "Reinvites and the complete lack of response from socialGo." in SocialGO:

    Mark Palmer
    Hi Alex,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

We are still only allowed to re-invite the last 200 contacts which have been sent. What a misnomer! The system has been programmed to sort contact addresses into alpha order which means that they are not the latest invites to have been sent out (or not that I am aware of). We have no way of going back to day one and start working through from the oldest invites and onwards up to the most recent.

If we could do that, then membership could be increased dramatically as past experience has proven.

This problem applies to both GayTravellersNetwork and TransDivine.

    Thanks for your time,

    Mark

Reinvites and the complete lack of response from socialGo.
Despite having previously raised the issue of re-invites before, there has been a complete lack of constructive response from the socialGo team. This is TOTALLY unacceptable and seems to be indicative of the disregard that the team have for what might be, to them at least, a minor problem. I just suppose that if I am ignored for long enough I might go away and not bother you anymore. Previous comments still stand.

Mark Palmer replied on May 02, 2009 18:24 to the question "Re-invite page is a waste of time!" in SocialGO:

    Mark Palmer
And here we go again! It is now some two months down the line and the re-invite system as it stands at the moment is a total no-no. I am still only allowed to re-invite the last 200 contacts which is a total misnomer. The system has been programmed to sort contact addresses into alpha order which means that they are not the latest invites to have been sent out.

There is absolutely no point in actioning the re-invite option as it does not do what it is supposed to do. When GayTravellersNetwork was running on it's previous platform the re-invite system there was an excellent tool to have as it captured more membership with reminder invites. This we cannot do, at the moment, with socialGo.

It is immensely frustrating and irksome that this matter has STILL not been sorted out to my satisfaction. It is understood that there are other problems which require your attention, but to have this problem as an outstanding issue so far down the line is, quite frankly, ridiculous.

So, what are you going to do about it and, more pertinently, am I going to get a timetable showing me when I can expect this matter to be resolved once and for all?

    Ryan,

The Edit button does not save any changes at all. For instance, when I wish to change a profile picture from the gray face to either a member picture or to the default picture (i.e. the red lips in Transdivine), it thinks about it for awhile then doesn't change anything! Strange I know, but true!

yes, I do have access to the Edit Profile button, but attempts to edit fail to save changes. Hope this helps.

This issue has STILL not been resolved to my satisfaction. I do not wish to sound as though I am whingeing, but a proper response detailing what you are doing to resolve the problem would be welcome. My comments made six days ago still stand.

Thanks for the response Ryan. But, quite frankly, this is a non-answer. This just sounds like it has been passed on to a non-identified person within the organisation who has left it in his/her pending file with no timetable of events showing what is being done about this problem. Put on the backburner with the gas not lit and steadily growing a film of mould! Really bad and not a good advert for SocialGO

Re-invite page is a waste of time!
Re-invites pages are a waste of time! I can understand, to a point, the restriction on the number of re-invites that can be actioned. But I must say that I, for one, would prefer the option of re-inviting those whom I wish to re-invite and not be forced to reinvite 200 of the latest invites sent out. Being a moderator of both Transdivine and GayTravellersNetwork it does not serve me well at all to be so severely restricted. Such a restriction is pointless and serves no purpose whatsoever. We must be allowed to have some flexibility in deciding what we wish to do on our respective sites within certain parameters of course!

    System slowdowns
Why do Transdivine and GayTravellersNetwork continually and consistently suffer slowdowns of the respective systems which begin late on Friday afternoon and continue for the rest of the weekend? If, as I suspect, it is because of system upgrades and maintenance then fine; but it would be a great help if myself, as a moderator of both sites, were given a timetable of what and when the work is to be progressed. I do not think this is too much to ask. More importantly we would be able to let our members know of what is going on. If we cannot do this then we, and other sites, run a serious risk of losing members through pure frustration. This is something that we should not have to countenance any further. This should not be about firefighting, but forward planning and, dare I say it, good manners on your part.

Invites page goes for a Burton!
Re-invite contacts section on GayTravellersNetwork has now been restricted to 350 invites per 24 hour period. Fine. But the re-invites page will only show 200 invites and the re-invite send button has disappeared so I can't re-invite even if I wanted too! You still seem to have stupid, but very annoying, problems don't you????? It's just not good enough.

A comment on the problem "Blank 'Invite Contacts' page" in SocialGO:

    Mark Palmer
I am using IMac and Firefox version 3 with 1 megabyte wifi connection. Email addresses are sent with commas seperating each address. It makes no difference as to the amount of invites I am sending as when the system is working it's slow but it still works! My concern is the unreliability of the system which is intensely annoying. Unreliability will be your downfall if this, and other niggling bugs are not sorted pdq! – Mark Palmer, on February 10, 2009 20:46

Invite contacts page is showing blank yet again on both GayTravellersNetwork and Transdivine. The system is so damned unreliable! What is the point of having a platform such as SocialGo if the nuts and bolts are failing all the time?

    Historical blogs do not appear
When I try to access an older blog for cross referencing purposes, everything after page one of my personal blogs seems to have disappeared into the great blue yonder. All I get are blank pages. This happens when I go into 'View All' of my personal blogs. Yet another frustrating aspect of this far from perfect system.
