A comment on the question "linux uploader api handshake problem" in RescueTime:
This means that the YAML being generated is not parse-able by the standard Python libyaml parser. I've looked over the Linux client code in past, and it's building YAML "by hand" rather than building a dictionary then passing it to Python's YAML encoder, so this method is very error prone.
Most likely your log as some bad data in it. You could email it to me at "mark at rescuetime dot com" and I can try to point out where it's corrupt.
It is odd though, because logs 0 and 1 appear to have gone in. Maybe they had time data outside the window of your dashboard date filter. – Mark Wolgemuth, on November 25, 2009 14:16
A comment on the question "linux uploader api handshake problem" in RescueTime:
Posting data via YAML is deprecated. The new native clients all POST a multipart form with a CSV file along with with a few new params that avoid passing the user name and password as well. We will be glad to engage in a private conversation with anyone who wants to try to update the client to the new spec. In the meantime, the old one still theoretically works. We've made a change that should cause this to start working again, or at least give you better error info. It seems there were some versions of the Linux loader using POST and some GET. The GET ones were failing to method protection on the server. Since the whole interface is deprecated, I just allowed GET again.

Mark Wolgemuth replied on September 29, 2009 14:01 to the question "Focus option in Rescuetime" in RescueTime:
You should be seeing a "Get Focused" option in your application menu now.
To find it:
On Windows, click the system tray icon for RescueTime.
On Mac, click the top menu bar icon for RescueTime.
If you are not seeing it, then your client is not being automatically updated for some reason.
Please go to:
https://www.rescuetime.com/download
To get the latest client, then:
1) Quit the old client
2) Install the new client
3) Launch the new client
Also note that the feature only works for paying customers, or customers in the free upgrade period.
Hope that helps!

A comment on the problem "Skype call length significantly under-reported" in RescueTime:
I was able to determine from our debug data that indeed it's the live call window titling causing the issue. I have deployed a change to how skype is handled that should prevent this from happening (the excessive slicing).
You still may see what seems like underreported time if you are not active on the machine running skype. Let me know if you have any further questions. – Mark Wolgemuth, on July 31, 2009 15:10
