Steve:
When I try and invite someone to link with me becuase we are a member of the same group. It demands an email address. Usually LInkediN uses are allowed to inid\cate that they know or are inviting someone to link due to being members of the same group..In this case it's a group I created on Linkedin.
when i went to do it I got the old you are prevented from doing this becuase to many people have indicated they don't know you. If you contact custom,er service etc.. promise not to do it again etc..
This all a result of my using the Linkedin tool that reads my email addresses out my outlook. I let it do that and mistakenly allowed it to invite everyone. there was allot more then I thought in that list.
I got the first message like almost a year ago. I contacted customer service, then nothing happens and I complained on a blog. someone told me it was taken care of and now almost a year later I still see it and apparently you don't see a problem, on my account.
I have probably only used the invite feature once or twice since I got the waring after making the mistake of letting it send to everyone in my outlook.
I don't know what to do. It's an important tool but if I can't do something and the site owners or employees can't find it/ I'm wondering how I deal with this. I comp-lied with your first request and never invited anyone outside of who I knew would accept. I have three groups and I pay for the service.
I would really like to have an unrestricted account and it's frustrating that you can';t find where it's happening. thanks for your help but I'm still peeved off over this.
Thanks for trying though.
Mark

Still locked out of Linkedin one year later and I am a paid customerI had been warned more then a year ago about sending invitations. Like everyone I have been told that if I acknowledge the issue and agreed to be more careful with my invitations my account would be return to normal.
In the last year I could not have used the invite feature more then 10 times and all were accepted. yet , I wanted to connect with someone on one of my groups today and noticed that the restrictions were still there a year later and I'm a paid customer. http://www.linkedin.com/in/markblei
