Mark Forster replied on June 15, 2009 22:57 to the problem "Fixx-Track authentication fails" in hedgehog lab:
Hi tmoreland, We've been making some huge changes to the api for 1.7 and 1.8 and it could possibly be these changes that have broken fixx-track.
fixx-track is not something we support, its more of a proof of concept project that I develop in my spare time to test the api features of fixx aimed at developers or companies who want to take advantage of the fixx API in their own products and tools.
Unfortunately lately i havent had the time to devote to it. That said, now that the fixx 1.8 is out, I may be looking to pick this backup again but this wont be in the foreseeable future.
If your'e techie or you know some developers, you may want to checkout the source code for fixx-track and start dabbling into the API yourself
http://code.google.com/p/fixx-track/
If I do get to updating fixx-track the above URL is the place to watch as i will be posting updates there.
sorry i couldnt help at this time, but do let me know if you have any further interest in fixx-track
Mark Forster replied on June 11, 2009 17:50 to the idea "[1.8] Backup And Restore" in hedgehog lab:
As well as bug fixes, we've channeled alot of resource into improving the API for fixx 1.8 and unfortunately neglected the administration area, more specifically the backup restore capabilities of fixx.
Let me first of all say i think this is a great idea and secondly, reassure you that we see further development of the admin area, run in parallel with the Administration support we plan to build into the API real soon.
Now might be a great time to tell us about the other admin features you'd like to see supported in the Admin API.
Overall I'm loving the suggested improvements and hoping we can deliver some real value by adding them.
Thanks again
Mark Forster replied on June 11, 2009 17:37 to the idea "Faceted search view" in hedgehog lab:
Great idea and something we'll definitely take on board.. We hoping to collect enough feedback about our customers needs so we can focus our efforts on improving not only the filtering / searching experience but the overall quality of the results returned - facets are definitely something we can throw into the mix.
Our aim is to tackle the problem of finding issues and finding them fast using a combination of search, filter , group and sort. fixx currently implements Lucene to index the database and we are confident that it will allow us to further build on interface to drill down the issue results using facets.
Again, let me emphasize that we our taking this on board but want to tread carefully as productivity and ease of use have been two of our main drivers when developing the interface for fixx and changes to this area of the UI may need some thought before we add this feature.
We'll keep you posted on this and consider this to be a must have feature that will add a great deal of value to you and probably a large proportion of our customers
Mark Forster replied on June 11, 2009 17:22 to the question "[1.8] email notification improvements ?" in hedgehog lab:
Great idea.
I have to admit, the messaging system we've built into fixx definitely has its weaknesses.
This is one of those scenarios where by, we didn't want to blindly assume that emails where to be sent at every system change. At the same time we did not want to pollute the interface and complicate collaboration any further than what is already built into 1.8...
...however saying that... ...your ideas on 10 minute updates and flood protection are a great work around to this. Client opt in on projects/areas and daily email reports are also two things we've had in the pipe line but never had requests for so have been pushed to the back of the roadmap.
Although we do try to avoid this kind of disconnected communication i.e reliance on email i can see a clear benefit in the cases you've described, that being said the features you describe are exactly the kind of feedback we need to move forward and enhance not only the level of communication but also the level of productivity that fixx can provide.
thanks ;-)
Mark Forster replied on June 11, 2009 17:03 to the problem "[1.8] Status column missing" in hedgehog lab:
Hi martijn, sorry this is causing you some distress. Having the ability to filter issues by status, we felt was a progressive step towards improving the filtering capabilities of fixx.
We've got plans to enhance alot of the filtering and results grouping for issues and are still collating feedback from our users to ensure we can capture their needs while keeping fixx both productive and simple.
Let me assure you that we will be passing this feedback to our boffins who'll look to get out updates to improve the user experience for this problem.
by the way - loving this idea http://getsatisfaction.com/hedgehogla...

Benfield suckHow long does it take to get your car in to be fixed by benfield when:
1) You know the problem as its been recurring
2) The problem is to do with a part that has been replaced twice and is under warranty
3) The part is critical to the car window closing
4) Without your window closing your car could get stolen

How do i change the user interface layoutIs there a way to change the UI for songbird. I know you can skin it with "feathers" but its far too "i-tunes" like for me.
I want to be able to change the layout of the panels. An ideal scenario would be some of the features from windows media player 11 and itunes
