These are some of the advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages:

• Different business units can be notified or know that an event such as deployment or release will occur by simply login into SharePoint

• It provides structured views of JIRA issues, comments and projects to users which may not be accustom to JIRA because they only use or have access to SharePoint.

• Issues can be created, modified or commented from SharePoint which provided an extra presence point for an organization.

Disadvantages:
• SharePoint site can become ‘unstructured’, mirroring, JIRA if not properly manage.

If the integration is not well designed and executed JIRA and SharePoint site can become out of synch.
