Hi Critter, thanks for your reply. I just tried to get into the Ajax (white version) but it will not accept my login name and password. It also will not take my login name with the code I received with the Seesmic invitation sent to me by email.
Sorry about this. Is there anything else you can suggest?

We have two interfaces for Seesmic. You can try the Flex (black) version at http://seesmic.com/ or our Ajax(white) version at http://seesmic.com/home
possibly the /home one might work for you...

Ah, thanks for letting me know that. Also, another query. I actually just signed up with Seismic in an Internet cafe. Now, back at home I am unable to view the Seismic page correctly on either my desktop or laptop. I have tried viewing in Flock, Mozilla Firefox and IE7, but no luck. I can only see an empty black screen. I have Flash Player installed, and regular watch Flash movies, and create my own swf movies too, so I am puzzled as to what the problem might be.
Thanks for all your patience. I really appreciate your help so far.

Get Satisfaction... the site we are on now is basically a an outsourced option for customer service. I see the menu you are talking about now. You are under the company/product of Seesmic at the moment. if you are having problems with the Get Satisfaction website you should look at: http://getsatisfaction.com/satisfaction
That is /their/ customer service for this site...

Mary, I am beginning to believe you are not on our system. Our application is located at http://www.seesmic.com. We do not have Home, Company, or Products tabs located in our UI.

Sorry, but I cannot find the Search User tab now. I see Home, Company, Products, You at the top, and underneath those I cannot find Search User tab. However, I did use this tab a few days back; cannot remember how I found it now and I found the friends/lecturers I wanted to add, but only one would add to my list anyway. Beyond that I could not play any of the videos.
I think you need to put a simple explanation about how to navigate and use Seismic. Also, from looking at other comments it looks like it generally does not work.

Mary,
At the top of the UI there is a "Search User" tab. When you select that you are given a chance to enter a username.
As you are typing the program will list all users who match what you are typing.
When you find the one you want, click on it in the list and you will see to the right their profile summary. Also to the right will be a "follow" button.

I am not trying to access any particular url; am I supposed to be doing that? I am trying to add katepullinger, christinewilks and renee (of the Netherlands) to my Seismic contacts, but I cannot get them to be added to my contacts. I have also tried to view the videos made by katepullinger, christinewilks and suethomas, but without any success.
My user name is Marychan.
It seems you do not have a well-detailed How to Use Seismic page. You might want to consider it. I am fairly tech-savvy, but I did not experience problems like this with You Tube or Facebook. Blogger has glitches and I guess this does too. It seems like quite a few tech problems are reported on your site.
Thanks anyway for getting back to me. I am sure eventually things will pan out.

Hello Critter, well, I don’t understand why I can add one person I know on Seismic to my contact list, but I cannot add the three other people I know to my contact list. Also, aren’t we supposed to be able to watch people’s videos on Seismic? I have successfully added my professor as a contact, but I am unable to view her videos or those of the three other friends I know. I am using the Flock browser, but I didn’t have any luck with Mozilla Firefox either.
I am grateful for any help you can give me.
