RPM 2.7.3 won't start for some mongrels

We updated to RPM version 2.7.3, and for the last couple of nights RPM won’t start for 2 of our 32 mongrels (a different 2 each time), but the mongrels themselves appear to be fine.

After inspecting the mongrel.log for that port, I see this:

Is there a way to specify the number of CPUs on a host? Or perhaps customize the thresholds so that the warning indicators are a bit more relevant for multi-core setups?
