Did you try to install SP3 as described here: http://getsatisfaction.com/livelabs/t...
It has also fixed the above problem as well as the memory issue before.

Let me just reiterate Nathanael's SP2 comment: If you have Windows XP SP 2, please install WIC as described here: http://getsatisfaction.com/livelabs/t...

If so, try installing WIC (linked from that article.) Let me know if that doesn't fix it.

This is not a common error message. Thanks for bringing it up
Can you type "%TMP%\Photosynther" into the Start box (or Start->Run if you have XP). Find the .log file with the name matching your failing synth and then send us the last few lines, or any line that has the word "exception".
I think we can figure this out.

rakerman: Are all your synths failing with this error? Could you try synthing some very small synths and see if they go through? Also, the last few lines of your log file might help.
For the log file, type Go to Start, Run, then type %TMP%\Photosynther, and find the file name that matches the synth title that failed. Open it and paste the last few lines here. Anything that says "exception" will be helpful.

Matt replied on August 26, 2009 15:46 to the question "error 80070002" in Microsoft Live Labs:
This can happen if you moved or modified some files while the synth was being created. It might also happen if your TMP directory got cleaned up while synthing. Make sure you have enough free hard drive space (about twice as much space as the original images take up) and don't move any of the source files while it is synthing. Let me know if you're able to synth something!
