Matthew Pennell reported a problem in Sophiestication Software on July 09, 2009 09:04:
CoverSutra constantly crashesI use CoverSutra at home and at work. Home is fine, but on my work machine (MacBook Pro) it won't stay open for more than a few seconds before crashing.
It worked fine when I first installed it, so my guess is that it's having problems with something else I have installed - but I have no idea what that might be. I tried killing various background processes (Dropbox, Evernote, etc.) but no luck.
I can supply a list of currently running processes if that would help. (It's not the iTunes Open File dialog bug previously reported.)

Aha - immediately after posting, I cracked it. It looks like installing VirtualHostX automatically switched on Web Sharing (under System Preferences > Sharing), which screwed up MAMP's virtual host management.
Switching off Web Sharing and now everything works fine. :) – Matthew Pennell, on February 05, 2009 17:14

I have the same problem - I'm using MAMP.
As far as I can tell, adding a new vhost with VirtualHostX does exactly what I would have done manually; creating a new VirtualHost block in the httpd-vhosts.conf file, which is included in MAMP's httpd.conf, and adding a line to the /etc/hosts file.
I think that the app has done something to Apache, because now all my old virtual hosts are returning 403 errors as well.
The MAMP httpd.conf seems to have everything pointing to the right places.-

It looks as if they do - my default API feed has a reference to the basic Flickr URL in thefeed-itemattribute. (It also does a JSON feed too.)

Just something to add to this - Tumblr allows you to import other feeds into your Tumblelog stream, so if you were to allow users to include their Tumblr RSS feed in their Chi.mp lifestream, you'd have to filter out duplicate entries (e.g. my Flickr stream is included in both my Tumblr and Chi.mp streams).

Me too. It looks like the importing of Flickr descriptions is incorrectly encoding the embedded HTML tags and escaping the closing tag slashes. See my last two Flickr photos (http://matthewpennell.mp/) for examples.-

Include Tumblr as a Web ServiceTumblr, the micro-blogging service, would be easy enough to include as a Web Service (instead of having to add it in the list of "My Websites"). It also has an API to extract lifestream data from, instead of relying on detecting RSS feeds.
