Mattias replied on November 06, 2009 18:07 to the question "spotify suddenly not supported?" in Spotify:
It might so be that the auto update feature failed and managed to overwrite the Spotify application with a new (broken) one. This shouldn't happen, but it shouldn't affect any playlists of yours :)
Please go to spotify.com and download the latest version manually and you should be back in no time (when you login, it will display all your playlists just as they were before Spotify broke down).
Good luck!

Mattias replied on September 01, 2009 16:04 to the problem "Mac Spotify self-update notified by Keychain?" in Spotify:
We'll start code signing the application shortly, meaning that each application update is verified by the system before Spotify can access the keychain services, use the network etc. This should prevent you from having to grant Spotify access manually (and also allows you to actually verify that the update comes from us).

We will start signing the binary, hang out there! – Mattias, on August 31, 2009 09:12-

mattias.arrelid replied on July 09, 2009 08:36 to the question "Cocoa context menu --> crash" in Spotify:
The Spotify Mac OS X client has always used NSTextView for some of its text views - like the biography and the album review views.
Could you please narrow down this so that we have a clear path from a started client to a crashed one? Are there any steps that can be taken that guarantees you a crash?
A comment on the question "Cocoa context menu --> crash" in Spotify:
Hi Rick!
Whenever you go to a "search view" in the Spotify client, the search text field will be populated with the title of the search. The idea here is if you perform some complex search query, and later want to modify it, you should only have to go to the previous search result's view - by going there you will get the entire search query pre-filled in the search text field. – mattias.arrelid, on July 09, 2009 08:34

Some URI types are not hyperlinkedTweetie doesn't seem to pick up all registered URIs on the system. I've got Spotify installed, and yet the string "spotify:track:66xY4yM2ELZDl9QK1drT7d" isn't clickable in Tweetie.
Here's a patch for Spotify and Skype support that we produced for Colloquy a while ago:

What about code signing so that updates are smoother?Tweetie.app could/should be code signed so that you don't have to click that pesky "yes, I'm aware of that this app has changed and I will grant it access my keychain..." after updates.

What about supplying hover images for some buttons?Wouldn't it be nice if the 'Timeline', 'Replies' etc. buttons would highlight as you hover over them?
mattias.arrelid replied on April 20, 2009 12:02 to the problem "Mac firewall always asks for permission (twice) everytime Spotify is launched." in Spotify:
There is (or at least was) a bug in Mac OS X itself which can produce the above mentioned behaviour. Other users have fixed it by following these steps.
Please tell us if it works for you or not.-

mattias.arrelid replied on January 25, 2009 21:34 to the problem "Copy HTTP Link / Spotify URI on Mac not working properly" in Spotify:
This is actually a problem in Apple Mail itself - we just hand it data like we do to all other applications. If you're curious and would like to verify this yourself, just install the Mac OS X developer tools and you'll get a copy of 'Clipboard Viewer' - use that to see that the data Spotify writes is in the correct format.
mattias.arrelid replied on January 19, 2009 16:08 to the idea "i/we want spotify for mac 10.3 and higher!!" in Spotify:
We would love to support all versions of Mac OS X, but that is not really feasible; for each new release of the operating system, Apple adds new functionality that allows our developers to develop faster and more efficient versions of the software.
Also; if we were to support all versions of Mac OS X we would need to test it on all those systems for each new version we release. That is not really feasible.
And finally; there are very few users out there running 10.3 - why don't you upgrade to Tiger or Leopard? It's definitely worth it!
