Matt Baume reported a problem in Tumblr on February 08, 2010 05:43:
Linkback on reblogs going to wrong tumblelogWhen some users reblog a post from my tumblelog at photojojo.tumblr.com, for some reason their linkbacks break: they point to a page that doesn't exist on a group blog that I no longer use.
Here's an example:
http://photojojo.tumblr.com/post/3771...
Two different users reblogged it, but their links back to the original entry are broken:
http://www.insertironicsentiment.com/...
http://ifoneweresoinclined.tumblr.com...
How is this happening?
Matt Baume asked a question in Tumblr on January 29, 2010 20:29:
How can I fix broken links after renaming my Tumblelog?I have two Tumblelogs, a group blog and an individual blog. I recently swapped their names, and now I've discovered that all of my inbound links are broken. For example, this:
http://photojojo.tumblr.com/post/3381...
That used to work, when it pointed to the group blog; but now that I've switched the name "photojojo.tumblr.com" from the group blog to the individual blog, the link now points to the individual blog. So anyone who visits that link will get a 404.
Is there any way to repair that? Or is there any way to manually create a new post at that URL? I know I can specify a custom post URL, but that still won't work because of that 9-digit number that Tumblr automatically generates.
Thanks!
