A comment on the question "Presentation mode..." in Balsamiq:
I was excited to see this but it's still missing an important thing, which is to also hide the huge hand when you hover over the links. Can't we make that happen too? – Michael, on May 06, 2009 12:48

Peldi,
Not sure what you mean by blue area.
This is what is needed for it to be useful in presentation mode:
- a plain cursor
- no hotspot on link hover (blue hand)
- no little blue arrow hints in presentation mode
I realize though some will want these feature and some will not. So ideally a way to shut them on/off.

Peldi,
How quickly could we get this? The current implementation is unusable for some, and there is an upcoming usability event happening at our company, We would love to use mockups. – Michael, on May 04, 2009 00:53

My only concern is what happens if the UI you want to show is in the lower right corner? Perhaps the hotspot can be much smaller than the control size. – Michael, on April 30, 2009 16:47

If I'm being real honest here - I am not crazy about the big pointer arrow and the huge blue finger that you get when you hover. If I had my wishes:
- Use a smaller regular pointer in presentation mode
- Do not use the pointer facing towards the center
- Make the hand on links to look more regular
- Option to hide the arrow hints
- Create a separate special control to be used for linking. Would be same as rectangle area that is transparent and no border.

Text formatting helperI have posted in this idea before, but perhaps it was too confusing so let me try again:
Many of the UI controls now offer the ability to embed special formatting (links, checkboxes, options, etc) right inside the text. It's quite amazing capability.
However, many keep forgetting the syntax after you edit the control. I propose that when entering text, you can have a little combo box for quick access of compatible text formats. Clicking these will insert the corresponding text.
As you can see above, right when your editing your text you have quick access to the formatting that is available for you to use in your UI component.

Link Bar with only one linkFirst of all, I like using the UI components the way they were intended to be used. So when I needed to mockups a tabbed navagation UI with sub navigation, I naturally used the Tab Bar and Link Bar.
However I was perplexed that in one of my cases, I entered only one item in the Link Bar. But look what happens.
