I agree that the linking affect should only be application in full screen mode. – Michael, on March 20, 2009 10:03

My team has created (manually) a linked mockup html set of webpages that user workflow flow. Our plan is to use it to demo, but then also to usability test.
In doing this, we have realized the need to display a little marker on wherever the linkable hotspots are. To do this, we placed a little arrow above each linkable hotspot. This was to give the viewer an idea on where to click.
However I would like this to be toggled on or off. If I am doing usability testing, I want the arrows off so that the user is forced to think about where to click. For demo purpose, I want the arrows to know where to click.
Here is an example:

I hope this can be a part of your design.

Right click on text entry gives you easy access to the embedded tokens. Many of the UI controls now offer the ability to embed tokens (links, checkboxes, options, etc) right inside the text.
However I will admit that I keep forgetting the syntax. I'd even like to see an expansion of this powerful capability by adding even more embedded token capabilities.
I propose that when entering text, you can right click and get a list of compatible tokens. Click these will insert the corresponding token. Quick access to insert these tokens.
Michael asked a question in Balsamiq on March 08, 2009 12:02:
Use icons within text...I would love to see the ability to embed an icon from within a text blocks.
Imagine if each icon had a code equivalent and using that code within your text block would output the icon.
For example:
Imagine I want to add a close icon
to my tabs bar, I could look up the code for the icon and use it in the tab bar like this.
I got this idea after reading this request and a few others.

This would give us tremendous flexability

Perhaps the most unusual use of Balsamiq...Today I was having a new gas heating system installed. There was some confusion on the piping arrangement that was very specific to ensure safe and effective operation of the steam boiler. I needed to quickly create a drawing to show a heating consultant through email.
I had many ways I could have done this, including a full-blown CAD system that I'm an expert in. However I decided to give Balsamiq a try. I had my drawing done in just two minutes!
I know it's an unusual use of Balsamiq, but it was a very effective way to get my point across.
Oh and I have now have heat again. :)
