I have had problems getting video to convert and display as videos.

The video is 30 seconds long, widescreen, with audio.

The first attempt was encoded using Premiere Pro at 1280x720 pixels using H.264, into a MP4 file.

That showed up as a generic file, not a video, so I thought the format might be too big.

I re-encoded at a smaller screen size: 800x450 as a F4V file.

Although I have searched, I can't find anything that directly addresses this issue. I'm not sure whether the problem is the codecs I'm using, the widescreen format or the larger pixel ratios I've used. Or something else altogether.

If the information is readily available and I've missed it, I do apologize, but I have not found detailed information on preferred settings to encode video.

Any additional information would be most appreciated.
