Notes are only associated with verses, so click on a verse number and then click Notes. This lets you add, edit or view a note. We list all of your notes in the notes tab to make it easier to view them at a glance.

Hi Kirk, can you check your OS to make sure you have 2.2? That might be the reason. Go to Settings > General > About > Version and if you see something lower than 2.2 you will probably need to upgrade your OS first.

For the bookmarks, there is a new tab at the bottom, you'll see Library | Bookmarks | History | Search. Do you see those? They should appear when you're at the main start screen of the application.

Can you check and make sure you are running OS 2.2? Go to Settings > General > About and look for "Version". If not you'll need to upgrade to the new 2.2 version.

If that's not the issue, can you tell me which verse or link you clicked on? In our testing we have not seen this issue.

The business that offers this service wants to charge $50/month for additional functionality, so instead of directing people here still I'm going to make something directly on readscriptures.com for people to submit questions and suggestions. For now, I'm just taking emails... I have an open discussion with the Church, btw. Thanks!

Apple has a bug that is causing it to crash on some devices....

1) Remove the app from your device and from iTunes (Applications in left menu)
2) Sync
3) Download it again by acting like you're buying it, but it will say "you've already purchased this item, do you want to download it again?"
4) Sync

Let me know if that works...

Thank you for voicing your concerns, we are working on the speed and are putting a lot of time into optimizing it in 3 areas: initial loading, loading chapter view, and footnotes. We are restoring landscape mode in the next version with a preference of enabling it or not. We thought having the ability to change the font size would help but we still have many users that want this ability. The Church makes its content available for other mobile platforms, and approves content for distribution to these devices, like recently they approved Preach My Gospel, which you can now find in Yanceyware as well. We have always emphasized the content is not part of the price, only the app itself is. As we progress in development our goal is to be similar to the other handhelds the Church lists on their site (but never officially endorses) and make the content downloadable (more separation from the app).

The opening screen doesn't take any time on its own, it stays there until the application interface and content is loaded. If it wasn't there, you would just see basically a blank screen. I'm not sure if we can speed it up but we're trying... Thanks

The splash screen is there during initialization. If there was no splash screen, you would just see the basic components of the interface for the same amount of time, which was why we decided to add the splash screen. Thanks

No it will not. Make sure you use the same iTunes account and after you've removed it and synced, ACT like you're buying it but it will not charge you and will say "you've already purchased this item, do you want to download it again?". Click OK, then sync.

A comment on the question "Why can't I get the latest update?" in ReadScriptures.com:

No you will not be charged again. When you go to iTunes > Applications (left menu) -> updates it will say "Free" update.

If you download it from the AppStore it will say "you've already purchased this item, do you want to download it again?". Then just click OK. – mdjensen, on November 05, 2008 16:59
