Unfortunately I have this problem as well. I had a Twitter user name I was using with M3, but changed the name with Twitter, it still is the same account though, just a name change. M3 won't accept it though :(

As a temporary fix, you can block someone the following way:
I'm going to use GeekMommy as an example:

1. Go to the bottom of their profile page, in this case http://twitter.com/geekmommy

2. Copy the RSS link, again, using GeekMommy as an example, it is: http://twitter.com/statuses/user_time...

3. Note the user number and append it to this link (http://twitter.com/blocks/confirm/), such as http://twitter.com/blocks/confirm/430...

4. Follow the blocking instructions as usual.

A comment on the problem "Block only available after mutual following?" in Twitter:

I guess I should have also mentioned that you will have to enter the user's number, not their username.

It appears that for the past few weeks, possibly since the Twitter UI change, the block link has disappeared from users profiles.

At first I thought maybe if I followed the person I want to block, that the link would then show up, but this is not the case either:


The link will only show up for users which I have a mutual following relationship with.

As a temporary fix I have been initiating the blocks manually (http://twitter.com/blocks/confirm/xxxxxx), but this is quite annoying.

Anybody else experiencing this?

Btw, regarding blocks, a suggestion would be to show me when I have blocked a user, once I visit their profile page. ;)

Hey Jared,

Thanks for the quick response and getting a fix live already.
The number doesn't disappear any longer when I submit the changes, but I'm afraid the SMS is still doesn't reach me. Who knows, maybe this has to do with carrier support. I'll make sure to send you an email to the address you mentioned to try to work it out.
The actual problem I reported is fixed though ;)

When I add my German mobile # to AwayFind and hit save, it simply disappears after the reload.

Any ideas?

My Twitter username is OnkelSchark

I texted ON about half an hour ago (although I never turned the notifications off) and about 5 minutes later I received confirmation of ON as well as 5 additional notifications - obviously all extremely delayed.

As for missing tweets in my timeline, it seems to fluctuate. for example, right now it actually looks normal, can't confirm missing tweets at this very moment - but i did earlier this morning and the last two days.

For example, this tweet did not show in my timeline (i am following abacab):
http://twitter.com/abacab/statuses/71...

As I posted above, my timeline got a little lighter again, but not nearly as bad as the week prior.

I had been receiving SMS notifications until last night, mostly OK, sometimes delayed or even double. They have now completely stopped as of this morning.

I have now even noticed @replies not only missing from my timeline but also from my replies tab. This is very bad. For a tweet not to show in my timeline, in my replies tab nor on my phone even though it is directed to me...wow. Unfortunately this makes Twitter completely unusable for me at the moment... :(

Hope you guys and girls get this under control.

Well, it all seemed fixed for me for several days. My timeline was nice and full and I didn't notice anything missing.
...until this morning. After yesterdays Twitter slowness / downtime I am now once again starting to miss Tweets in my timeline.
Also, SMS notifications started coming through delayed about 15 mins ago, but are at least still working somewhat....for now.

Just to clarify, it's not your browser cache, but a caching issue on Twitters end.
