I think the discussion is valid to some point.

And i just want to point out some things:

1. There IS a significant difference between real notes and the "notes" in TTR: real notes can display a roll of eights. BUT a musician - depending on the interpretation and/or music style - could choose to play these with a swing. The result wouldn't be equally long eights and thus needed to be displayed as differently spaced taps in TTR.

2. Ceegers is right that one of the Coldplay tracks seems off. Though i'm not sure if this is just the visualization ... maybe the first one is going with the original score (eights) and the new DX version reflects some kind of swing or "offbeat lag". would be interesting to have a non-themed version to test which one is better.

3. For everyone who plays TTR the scene is set the same way. I do good on timing for the songs where my personal way of playing (music) fits with the way the taps are placed. my timing is worse with tracks where the taps are placed somewhat earlier or later. I've to adjust my style to the timing that is needed to get a better score and this is the same for any player - so no problem here.

4. There could be some kind of quantization in TTR that places notes with a smallest kind of swing in a way that you could think "wtf this is not the rhythm i hear in the music". This could be 2 pixels on an iPhone screen and couldn't be done much better because of technical reasons...

5. I don't know how the tracks are done so... are the taps placed in sync with the audio/sample view? so that the tap comes on the top of the sound material to the beat? How good is the software for this task? can you pre-listen in a effective way just like in pro-audio tools like Logic etc.? i could imagine that doing a perfect tap track is not an easy task ... everyone should have the chance to become better with every track he does and that's the same for DXChain who can get our full respect for being so active and helpful in the TTR development and in the TTR community overall...

6. If you think a track is crap -> the good thing about this game is that you're allowed to skip it and play other tracks. :)

Yeah, I would love TTR: Muse! And I think all of their songs are well tappable, too. Yes, Knights of Cydonia is 6 min. Even better.
