i'm not upset with anyone. just found this thread interesting. this is a study in the evolution of a social site with a competitive edge. one of the combatants listed his mood as indiffernet after a comment. i found this interesting as i found it to be a sign that someone who had drawn the respect of the admins would dismiss any concern with such a cavilier attitude. i find the superuser concept to be a very good idea and commend those that have achieved this rank, but, there has been noted meltdowns by various users in the past and there will be meltdowns in the future. i foresee a time when a current or future hubdubber questions the integrity of a superuser and the hoedown will begin again. even if the superuser and hubdubber agree that one or the other were right or wrong it will start as comment that is taken in the wrong way.
in reading your question again, i also note that you are defending the superuser concept by questioning why i am acting hostile. this has given me a new thread to follow; will the concept of "superuser" lead to class distinction amongs users? with a post-analysis question; could hubdub have chosen a better title for recognition of dedicated hubdubbers that would not have inferred superiority?

woohoo, i can't wait for a super user to have a nuclear meltdown online, and one will sooner or later, if admin does not have very clear and concise definition of responsible behaviour then we gonna be back to the inmates having the keys to the asylim's pharmacy

i forget which wizened hubdubber coined these phrases after the spitzer hoedown but the title faction should be changed to clubs and then everybody would get a little logo thingie after thier names

i think this one is up the administration to deal with. putting the onus on the users to determine punishments will only result the ones with the most to say getting their way. if hubdub wants to maintain their integrity they have to make a decsion that is in the best interest of their investment not in appeasing the disgruntled. it is what they decide to do that will affect the future of this fine site.
i will not vote (i'm on strike) but do look forward to seeing what the outcome is

just to stay on point
satyaki admitted to cheating and was arrogant about it
there is no research needed, no mitigating circumstances to consider
and not posting olympic torch questions because i am on strike is killing me. it is the ultimate symbol of unity and i can not play the game for the symbol that it represents, unity or, the lack thereof

theonecalledmichael's reply to "Proposed new procedure for dealing with gaming" was just promoted to the most useful! meanderingsearcher and 2 other people think it's one of the best replies.

I agree that banishment is a little harsh for his past actions... with a clearly defined set of rules about what "gaming" is, going forward, i would have to agree with the above rules. Sometimes I bet on questions that seem to have low odds for the outcome, but the question does not get voided after 12 hours. Is it gaming to vote on open questions that you feel comfortable that the odds are not correct, or that the payoff is worth the risk? I bet on a lot of basketball questions, well after there was significant betting on the markets, because the odds were 85-15 or better (i bet on the underdogs.) Now, I LOST every one of them, but was i gaming or just taking risks? I'm not equating that with satyaki's situation, but i wouldn't want to be accused of gaming based on those criteria. From what I understand, satyaki set the odds at 50/50 or close to it. I don't know much about cricket, or the teams. Is an international team that much better than a regional team? would the US olympic basketball team be THAT much better than the Celtics or the Hornets? I don't know... it just seems like a lot of fun is taken out of the hubdub experience when we have to have these arguments (although, some arguments like "resignation" and "delegates" are extremely entertaining...) If satyaki IS gaming the system, the administrators should take a stand, make an example, and not let this thing continue to snowball into a flame of striker's comments on questions....

PS: Will HubDub develop an easier way to review past comments by the November 4th Election?

as hubdub is still in beta there are a lot of bugs to work out. some of the user's have a need for answers in a somewhat timely manner and the admin., understandably, are busy. this results in displays of testosterone (sorry guys but we haven't had a female hubdub meltdown yet.....) so this afternoon i am going to talk the lynch mob into storming nigel's house. if he doesn't have enough tea for all of us, THEN WE GONNA GET ALL SILLY LIKE IN HIS SITTING ROOM
