Actually, we might have had an upgrade done without our knowledge when we sent the server back to repair the bios and hard drive. May I ask who submitted this problem? I booted the server and that took care of the frozen Carousel and the "too many people on the server" Microsoft error message we were getting when trying to access our server.
I'll try installing Microsoft .NET framework (2.0) tomorrow. Thanks for your help, John! ~ Mary Ellen

Sorry, Grayson's message was to another person with the same problem. I thought he was taking about a John that happened to be at the studio this morning. Nevermind. I'll try a hard boot (I didn't want to do this over the weekend and not be able to get anything going) and see what happens. Later. ~ Mary ellen

I don't think we are getting more trafiic than usual. I think this is connected to carousel geting stuck. Grayson reported, "I worked with John this morning and was able to get the system back up and running. The machine was not outputting a VGA or composite signal nor was it connecting to the network. Long story short we hard booted the machine and it started working." So it seems Carousel is working, but I still can't access the server remotely. – Mary Ellen, on January 05, 2009 17:57

A comment on the problem "Virus???" in Tightrope Media Systems:
22 people have access, but I'm lucky if I get two bulletins a week to approve. I'm the only one who accesses it on a regular basis and I've only added two users to the system in the last month and haven't had a problem of this nature until now. I find it hard to believe the error message is diagnosing the problem accurately. – Mary Ellen, on January 04, 2009 00:42

No sound driverGood Monday to you. Seems our repaired VSX was sent back without a sound driver. I thought this was fixed, but the guy who helps me out with IT issues just informed me that, "I only succeeded in getting the legacy driver working, which may not have been the optimal..."
We just had power restored since an ice storm hit last Thursday and I'm on my way to the station to get us broadcasting again, but it's no good if there isn't sound! ~ Mary Ellen

Hi Grayson ~ That took care of it trying to connect, but I still get this error message:
The send FAILED.
An error occured sending to 'VSX'. Check the configuration or the physical connections.
No control module found in database with CMHID=2.
An error occured sending to 'Encoder'. Check the configuration or the physical connections.

That said, the autopilot is working. Just thought you'd want to know. Thanks for your help ~ Mary Ellen

I went to the station and cleared the router. When I came home I tried sending autopilot again and it worked, but I got an error message about the encoder and VSX in the device list for the first time. I took advantage of the screen and forced the satellite to air successfully. Succesive sends have also succeeded (say that 7 times fast), but even after disabling the devices, as I said in the other thread (sorry about that - two threads, one issue), I still get send failed messages.

Do you fix the bugs or do you exterminate them?
