Haha! Was really thrilled about this fix; one of my accounts had this problem too so I can relate to the frustration. And I'm always happy to be the bearer of good news. 8-) – mdy, on September 08, 2008 18:53

Looks like Twitter has started a new topic to get feedback regarding the [Older] button fix.
Kindly post any feedback to this other thread:

Hi srizvi1. 8-) Now that Summize (Twitter Search) has been acquired by Twitter, I believe they intend to also remove deleted tweets from Twitter Search (based on a blogpost by @al3x a month or so ago (relevant excerpt here).
However, I don't know if this is also true for other Twitter search services (such as Tweetscan) and the other services that receive an XMPP feed from Twitter (such asTwittervision, Zappos, FriendFeed). – mdy, on September 05, 2008 18:18

sounds good mdy. I'll post an update when I notice I have access to my old tweets. For now, the search function will do. I just wish when you searched, it didn't bring up deleted tweets too. – srizvi1, on September 05, 2008 18:04

Hi srizvi1. 8-) I think the intent is for all of us to have at least 160 pages of our own tweets (at least, that's how I interpreted the reply that @biz posted), with the possibility of extending it further back when they're technically able to support it.
I'm guessing (and this is just speculation on my part) that they still need to rebuild our caches to fill in the older tweets. – mdy, on September 05, 2008 16:15

As I replied on the other thread (http://getsatisfaction.com/twitter/to...), I'm able to only see up until my August 8th post, which is not my first post (that was in June 2008). @MDY, if you can browse 160 pages, while I can browse 11, it seems like everyone can only access a certain percentage of their tweets. – srizvi1, on September 05, 2008 13:30

Thanks for the note, jonee. The behavior you describe is consistent with some of the feedback I'm seeing in the other thread. – mdy, on September 05, 2008 08:54

I can now browse back beyond page 10, but on page 11 and beyond I can only see my most recent tweet, so not quite fixed for me yet unfortunately – jonee, on September 05, 2008 07:03

Hi all. According to @biz in another thread, Twitter is hoping to deploy a fix for the [Older] button problem that we have with our Recent and Archives pages today.
I just checked mine and I'm currently able to browse through 43 pages of my Archives, which takes me back to May 2008. Earlier this morning I was able to browse all the way back to page 160 (for a total of 3200 tweets dating back to Jan 2007). Perhaps they're still tweaking the fix.
I'm currently able to browse back to page 13 of my Recent timeline -- equivalent to roughly 3 hours worth of tweets for my account. Earlier this morning I could go all the way back to page 19 (which was around 2 hours worth of tweets -- most of the people I follow are asleep right now).
At least a couple of people I know are now able to access their older Favorites, which were previously not browsable.
Anyway, since the fix was deployed, some people have reported being able to go past page 10. If you happen to still be experiencing this problem after the fix, it might help to add a reply to say so in the other thread.

So I was curious -- is this fixed for everyone also?

1 Month has passed and this is still not fixed. I received this e-mail reply on August 15 from Twitter support in regards to the support ticket I personally sent them about the problem back on July 23:

Hi,
Thanks for the email. This is a bug. Going back further than 200 entries or 10 pages is currently not working for a number of users. All data is still there and we're working on a way to make it accessible again . Sorry about that, and thanks for your patience!
Cheers,
Mark

Just to clarify: I am not trying to go further than 200 entries or 10 pages! I’m talking about going to tweet number 21 on page 2 of my follower’s tweets! The Older Button is grayed out. Has been for a long long long time.

Perhaps Twitter support has lumped our problem into this one where folks can't see back 10 pages of tweets. Hell, I'd LOVE IT if I could go back just 2 pages.
Still <waiting>.......................................</waiting>

Looks like mine disappeared the other day... Have no clue why though. Unless something like TweetDeck could've broken it, but I've never heard of that happening... It's pretty weak to only have one or two hours worth of updates readable anywhere. Tried the mobile page, the standard page, tried putting in ?page=2 after the url, doesn't show in tweetdeck... Seriously annoying.
