I actually emailed timbuk2 since I am writing a review on a hemp bag I actually purchased, but never received a reply.
It is my original understanding that the hemp offers a long lasting and rugged eco-friendly alternative. The material as you know is natural and non-pollutant, and the plastics for the buckles are supposedly made from a corn-resin. I was also told that the internal liner doesn't contain all the nastiness, but I emailed their pr contact email about it and haven't received specifics.
As for my hemp bag, I love the material. It's not the typical flashy timbuk2 style, which some people don't like, it's sort of plain and simple. I have the all black 2008 grown commute.

To hemp or not to hemp? What are your thoughts on the underground day pack? Do you like this bag or recomend somehting else? I like to use it for whn I am traveling and sighseeing...not so much for hiking, but getting around town and to use as a carry on.
Should I hemp or not hemp? why or why not? I don't really know the benefits of hemp...
