Melanie Burke replied on July 24, 2009 14:14 to the question "Report showing income from clients" in FreeAgent Central:
I'd really like to see this feature too. One of the only good things about Quickbooks is that you can pull off lots of reports, in fact there are too many reporting options. But, being able to see how much a client has spent over a year is very useful.
On that note, I'd also like to be able to create 'items' in the same way you can in QB - with items you can also create reports showing income from different items, which is also very useful.
So, for example with 'items' I can view overall spend for web design, HTML newsletter design, user testing, consultancy, etc.
Any plans for any of the above?-

Melanie Burke asked a question in FreeAgent Central on July 17, 2009 12:47:
filter invoices by date rangeI would like to be able to filter invoices by a month or date range.
For example; I would like to be able to view all invoices I have in draft mode which I expect to invoice this month. So, I'd like either like to choose the month from a drop down (show me all draft invoices in July) or be able to enter a date range.
At the moment I have to add them up using a calculator, which I'd obviously rather not do.
Any thoughts on this? Or, is there another way to get the same info?
Melanie Burke replied on July 10, 2009 17:10 to the question "create multiple invoices from one quote" in FreeAgent Central:
Dear Ed
Usually we create single line invoices exactly as you suggest so a simple duplicate invoice function would be enough. A duplicate invoice would be useful anyway, aside from the estimating feature.
Are you saying then that the estimate would be detailed but you would be able to create a one line invoice from that?
So, for example; I create a detailed estimate>send to client>client agrees>I convert to invoice>?delete all the items?>add new item>duplicate invoice number of required times>send to client.
It would be useful to see the progress against the whole price, although as there are usually only four payments I have a pretty good idea of where we are and it's fairly straightforward to work it out. So, it would be a 'nice to have' but not essential.

bank account entries and bank account transactionsI've just used the 'export all data' function. What is the difference between the bank account entries and bank account transactions sheets in the excel spreadsheet?
Melanie Burke asked a question in FreeAgent Central on June 23, 2009 16:06:
create multiple invoices from one quoteI'm enjoying using the new estimates function :) but I'd like to be able to create multiple invoices from the original quote. Is there a way of doing this?
Our quote/sales/payment process goes like this;
I create a quote using FAC and email to the client. Client agrees quote (hurrah!). For larger projects we provide a payment plan of 4 invoices spread over the course of the project (usually 30%, 30%, 30%, 10%). I would like to create multiple invoices out of the original quote. It doesn't matter if these are straight up copies as I can amend the details myself.
Does this functionality exist and I'm missing something? If not, is this likely to be implemented?
Melanie Burke replied on June 23, 2009 15:51 to the question "Why can't I Convert an Estimate to a Project?" in FreeAgent Central:
I'd like to be able to do something like this. I don't want to create a project for an estimate as at this point it isn't yet (a project). Once the client agrees then it becomes a project.
What would be useful is if there was a drop down to 'add new project' in the same way that I can either select an existing contact or 'add a new contact' in the 'new estimates' screen.-

Melanie Burke replied on June 02, 2009 10:03 to the idea "How about being able to filter the invoices list by overdue?" in FreeAgent Central:
I'd like the ability to filter the list of invoices not just by 'open or overdue' but only 'overdue'.
This would make it much easier to see at a glance how much really is outstanding. At the moment I'm working this out with a calculator, whereas an additional dropdown select 'overdue' would do this for me.
Having this list would also make it much easier to see what I need to chase.
I really like not having to use a calculator so any chance of implementing this?

status drop down on estimates bugI've noticed a couple of issues with the status drop down
1. The status drop down 'with any status' on estimates doesn't display any estimates.
2. When I select a different status the drop down reverts to 'with any status'.
1. For example, if I select 'with any status' no estimates are displayed when I presume all estimates (with any status) should be displayed.
2. For example, if I select 'with draft status' all draft status are shown but the drop down shows 'with any status'. if I don't remember what I selected then I have no way of knowing which status I'm looking at.
I'm using Chrome, if that helps?

account not showing interest in reserve account uploaded statementsI've uploaded our reserve account statement to our account using the OFX format. When I compare the statement in FAC with the paper version I can see it is not displaying the interest paid into the account, although it is displaying the other transactions. I checked back over the last statement and I can see that this also didn't register the interest earned. I could add this manually but I thought I should check if this is a bug?-

Melanie Burke replied on April 24, 2009 11:53 to the question "How can I mark a timeslip as not available for invoicing/already invoiced?" in FreeAgent Central:
Hi there
I have a similar problem which I've flagged elsewhere;
http://getsatisfaction.com/freeagentc...
I want to use the time tracking for projects where i have billed in advance, for example a website support service where I charge the client for 12 hours of support up front. I use FAC to monitor the number of hours by entering each request for support as a task in FAC. It would be great to be able to assign the tasks to the invoice that had already been sent.-
