A comment on the problem "The new SU is not "more social" if you don't see visitors" in StumbleUpon:
Ok.
In V3 only the 10 newest visitors were shown, but in V4 the limit was upped to 100. This causes people to stay on the recent visitor list for much longer and you have no idea if they visit your page often, as they don't get bumped to the top of the list before they've fallen off the list, witch also makes it seem like less people actually visit your page unless you get 100 visitor really quickly. – Meneth, on December 12, 2009 21:59

You really used to thumb up 80% of your stumbles? I don't think I even did that my first day of stumbling, and that's probably when I had the highest stumble-thumb up rate. – Meneth, on December 12, 2009 09:20

She won't be the only one, I'll still be here laughing at the people who hate pretty much every aspect of V4, and also at the people who claim that almost everyone hates V4. – Meneth, on December 11, 2009 22:45
A comment on the idea "Urgency rating" in Get Satisfaction:
This idea is about GS implementing it not SU, the thread about SU having polls is here.
"An easier alternative would be to just have a rating system implemented via GS right on the threads for each feature. " That's what I'm suggesting. – Meneth, on December 11, 2009 20:41

PollsI suggest that to get useful feedback you make polls about any new features and changes to features in V4 where you ask stumblers if they like the change or not (I recommend a 1-5 scale).
Polls should also be done about problems, if people actually have the problem, how often, and how urgent they think fixing the problem is.
These polls could be submitted to the SU database so that people would stumble to to them and vote on them, this way even regular users who don't explore the interface much would get to the polls, and you'd get the opinions of a broad part of the SU community.

I think the users do most of the marketing, and also the websites with SU buttons. – Meneth, on December 11, 2009 19:24

Urgency ratingOften a person thinks one problem is more urgent than another, a question needs an answer more quickly than another or that an idea should be implemented before another.
Currently there's no way to easily tell a company using GS so, all one can do is add a "me too", but that tells the company nothing about how important/urgent you think it is.
Therefore I suggest that users should be able to rate questions, problems and ideas not only by if they have them or agree with them, but also by how urgent they think it is. This could be done on a scale of 1-5 (or another scale if that'd work better), where 5 would be "incredibly urgent", while 3 would be "somewhat urgent" and 1 would be "not really urgent."

Maybe I should also suggest to SU to have some polls once in a while that people would stumble to. That'd probably give them lots of useful information. – Meneth, on December 11, 2009 18:53

I meant that people would actually rank the problems, not just inform SU that they have them, so that they'd know more easily what problems are more important than others. I could have many different problems and add "me too"s too every single one, but I'd think some were more important than others, and my "me too"s wouldn't show that. – Meneth, on December 11, 2009 18:39
Meneth replied on December 11, 2009 18:34 to the question "Change Language" in StumbleUpon:
I don't think SU has any non-english toolbars and I don't think they have any non-english versions of their website.
You can stumble in different languages (will only bring you to pages in that specific language) by clicking the topic drop-down on the toolbar (it usually says All) then going into languages and clicking the language you want to stumble in.
