I really can't wait to see this. It will be the ultimate Flickr app when this gets released. – Adam Teece, on July 09, 2008 16:32

Yeah I disabled SocialThing and Jaiku so far. I think all I want to have access it is Twhirl or whatever desktop app I am using, and FriendFeed for now. I really hope Twitter will fix their service/API soon. They can only survive for so long with shoddy service.
They are talking about making it almost as common as e-mail is, but the only way that can happen is if it is very reliable and that seems a long ways off.

Hey Adam (long time no talk!),
As far as I know there aren't any services that allow you to check your API usage. However, you could always change your Twitter password then update the Twitter services you actually use with the new password.
However, because the API limit is currently at only 20 requests per hour, you'll run out of requests pretty quick.

Adam Teece asked a question in Twitter on June 05, 2008 16:04:
Can I check what services are accessing my API?I am having a problem that many people seem to be having with their API limit being exceeded. I just tried to open up Twhirl for the first time in 3 days and it says "limit exceeded, paused 5 minutes." I know I have facebook and FriendFeed accessing it, but just two services I would hope wouldn't be overloading my API. I am not sure if I signed up on any other services. I would really prefer not to change my password if at all possible.
I just think it would be nice to see what services are pinging my API and even disable them from inside twitter if need be.

SMS Placemark Check-In FailureMaybe I am doing this completely wrong but I have a placemark set up for @home. I type @home into my phone and send it to 80289 to check-in but I get "Sorry, but we couldn't find that place."..etc...
This happens with all of my placemarks that I try to checkin with SMS. Did I set something up wrong?

It may be available now at that price, but no one at the store explained that at all. We explained he was just looking for the computer as he already has a monitor and printer, but they said it was $499 and that because no one else locally had it, they could charge that.
We did end up getting it for $399 thanks to newegg.com though. And it only took 3 days to ship to us and everything works great. The computer is a very good buy, just make sure you price shop and don't let big corporations try to push some crappy deal on you.

Adam,
Thank you for your feedback on your Grandfather’s computer purchase. At Best BuyTM, we pride ourselves on providing the best price, selection and service for our customers. I was sorry to read of your frustrations with the pricing on the eMachines T5254.
I did some investigation after reading your post and discovered that the eMachines T5254 is currently available at our local stores and online for $399.99 plus tax. The $499.97 price is for a package including the computer, printer and monitor. Check out these links for additional details:

Adam Teece reported a problem in Google on May 08, 2008 17:43:
Gray box of Google Reader doom.I get a strange gray box in Google Reader whenever I am using it. I don't know what is causing it, but sometimes I can highlight the text behind it so I can read and it sometimes it scrolls at a different rate than the rest of the window. It looks like it is caused by Java though I could be way off. I am using Firefox 2.0.0.12 on OS X 10.5.2. I took a screenshot of it to show what it looks like and I am wondering if anyone else has run into something similar.
