Same problem. Using Snow Leopard. I have also problems with tracks just skipping to the middle or the end. It can happen any time, after some songs or the first one I click to play.

It's not like it would be a fight.

Why don't Spotify just put some pressure on Apple to fix this problem?

It happened again. The track started skipping. Sound came for 2 seconds, then silence for 5, then back again.. Was like that 3-4 times. And then when it stopped the next time it started up at that high speed again. This time towards the end of Foo Fighters - Summer's End. I was playing the album Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace and this is the 8th track on it. When I skipped to the next song, that too was all speedy and noisy.

Oh. And when I tried to change track to one in my playlist after this happened, then the app got unresponsive (the colorful circle made an appearance:).

After a while of listening I have now twice had a trouble with playback. The music starts playing 1.5 or 2x the normal speed and some noise is added. The time played/progress bar was flickering a couple of times when it happened. I happened to notice that. And that one is also running twice the speed. This time I was listening to Death Cab for Cutie - Talking Bird - KFOG Private Concert. I'm using high bitrate mode and I'm on a Macbook (alu) with OS X Snow Leopard.
