Micah Davis replied on April 17, 2009 02:08 to the question "how do i add friends? can i look at other peoples profiles/roovs?" in ROOV:
Erin,
Thanks for your interest in ROOV! To answer your question, all friend requests happen through Facebook and not on ROOV.
To add a person as a friend, click on their name...and you'll be taken to their Facebook profile. From there, you can choose to send a friend request.
Regarding your 2nd question, there currently isn't a way to view other peoples' ROOVs. ROOV is a small operation, and we hope to make further improvements going forward.
We appreciate you taking the time to contact us though!
Cheers,
Micah

Mary,
One...thanks for checking out ROOV! Your image and other information on ROOV is directly connected with your Facebook profile. So whatever picture you have on Facebook...will also be your picture on ROOV.
Hope that helps! Also, appreciate your email with the recommendation on LinkedIn...thanks a ton!

Stephanie,
Thanks for reporting the issue to us! "No," you're not doing anything wrong...the issue is actually on our end. We've been working avidly on a new way to create gatherings. We're gearing up to release it soon (yay!)...but, unfortunately, it won't be done in time for your salsa rendezvous (awww). :/
Sorry to keep you waiting on this feature set...we really wish that you wouldn't have to wait any longer. As soon as it's done though, we'll notify everyone via email.
Thanks for your patience while we continue working on the vision of ROOV!
With warm regards,
Micah

Sarah,
Hello...first things first, MEGA thanks for taking your time to check out ROOV! Secondly, my apologies for the delay in getting your church approved. After looking into it, there may have been an error on our part.
Whenever you get a sec, log in and check your church. If it's not in there still. Just click the yellow "MY STUFF" tab in the top left and then the "Edit My Info" link next to your name. The next page will allow you to submit it again should you need to. (if so, I PROMISE that it will be taken care of pronto for you this time around!)
We're a young project and have had a few growing pains along the way. Thanks for your time and patience with us...we're very appreciative of it! :D
Micah Davis replied on August 01, 2008 16:10 to the question "Who's running the show? Anonymous?" in ROOV:
Ed,
First, let me say a thanks for checking out ROOV! And second, I'd like to say another hearty thank you for taking your time to write us your thoughts and feedback on here! It is both welcome and appreciated.
As for what ROOV stands for...it's not an acronym or abbreviation of any sorts. We are using the word to create a new meaning. A "ROOV" is anything that a person has done, is doing or wants to do. More simply put...it's a "shared experience." Our intent behind this definition is that ROOVs are the means by which people can connect with each other through (1) conversations and (2) gatherings. For example, if you have been on "Missions to Uganda"...then that would make for a great experience to connect with other like-minded people of faith about.
There aren't any bios of us, the team, on the site because we're all very passionate about the vision behind this project and we try to keep it focused around that as opposed to about us. But as for some more info about "us," we're a team of 8 spread out across the US...ranging in age from our 20s to 30s.
As for the churches on ROOV, there is a wide range of beliefs/denominations on the site. The guideline for acceptance is the Apostolic Creed...so ROOV does not have any church affiliation whatsoever. The users who have signed up to date are the reason for it reflecting Protestant...however, there are many users currently on ROOV who come from Catholic and non-denominational churches as well.
Hope this helps to answer your questions. My apologies if I didn't explain things better...I tried to keep this post concise for the sake of brevity and your time. Please don't hesitate to contact myself if I can ever be of help or answer any more questions.
Again, from myself and the entire ROOV team...we really appreciate your time and candid feedback.
With warm regards,
Micah
