Michael Chow replied on April 20, 2009 01:34 to the problem "Unauthorized Text Messages, Hundreds sent without my consent!" in Newtoy:
Hi again Joe, the last time this happened, it was because another user signed up with a different user's phone number as his notification target. Hopefully this is not the case for you, but no matter what it should be a quick fix.
I'll need your phone number to check this out. Please submit this at http://newtoy.zendesk.com and we'll get on it immediately.
Thanks, and sorry again.

Hi Joe, I'm REALLY sorry about this. I'm letting someone know about this now.
Could you also do me a huge favor and sign up at http://newtoy.zendesk.com, then submit a bug ticket there? We're moving all our support operations to that site, where it's a lot easier for us to track your problems.

Hi SK,
Thanks for your input! And though I'm not sure I agree with you that change is a bad thing, I absolutely will not make fun of your comments. =)
We really like the fundamental idea behind GetSatisfaction, but we think its current execution makes it very hard for our users to find the answers they're looking for. It also makes it very hard for us to keep track of all our users and the particular problems they're having.
So we're moving to Zendesk because we're not comfortable committing to an unacceptable solution simply because the better solution would mean "change". Change can be good! It's not possible to improve anything without changing it, is there? And why improve slowly when you can improve quickly?

We're very excited about the new site: the layout is really clean and easy to navigate, and it's much easier for you to find what you're looking for. Please join us there for all your Chess With Friends needs. =)
I've still got the running list of users and the bugs you guys are experiencing -- so don't worry, we're still working on your issues! However, we will be winding up GetSatisfaction over the next few days -- so please make any new support requests on the new site: http://newtoy.zendesk.com !

Hi GB, this depends entirely on your service. Chess With Friends works essentially like a webpage -- it's all just data being sent back and forth from your iPhone. Saul is right -- if you can get a wireless connection abroad, no fees apply. If you get unlimited 3G wherever you're going, Chess With Friends won't cost you a dime. =)

Hi rmpiot, we're still ramping up the autoresign code, but the ultimate goal is to have users autoresigned if they haven't made a move in 48 hours (for random opponent games) or 14 days (for games with contact-list friends). – Michael Chow, on April 14, 2009 05:31
