Thank you. It's not terribly obvious how to do that. I blocked them, but the reply is still there. Maybe it will eventually disappear.

You can block someone even if they're not a follower. Click on the username of the person who sent the @reply to go to their profile page. On that user's profile page, scroll down to the bottom of their sidebar and look for the "Block" link. Click that. 8-) – mdy, on July 24, 2008 14:01

I believe blocking the person who sent you the @reply will remove the tweet from your Replies tab.
