Mike shared an idea in Songbird on October 31, 2009 04:32:
Fight MediaMonkey for 1st Place!I don't want to sound like 'a hata', but there are a few features from mediamonkey that I would LOVE to see integrated into this program (which in every other way is superior).
Increased user control over the Amazon info download sites (amazon.de, amazon.fr, etc...), as well as causing the program to default it's album art search to the directory where the music is stored, (ex, when right-clicking on 'edit medadata' for a particular song or album, having Songbird automatically search in the directory where the music is located, instead of causing the user to navigate to it). It is amazingly irritating to me to have Songbird tell me that it can't find the album art for a particular album. Also, perhaps the ability to apply sweeping changes to a library (ex, the Songbird feature that allows someone to personalize their playlists by selecting variables that meet pre-determined criteria - perhaps extending that to the ability to apply changes to an entire library, if a user doesn't have the know-how or time to change every mp3's or wav's ID3 file).
I love the ability to personalize the program, which is why I love Mozilla, but I think that Songbird needs a little tuning. I greatly look forward to what you have to develop in the future. I've been using Songbird for a while, and I absolutely love it - just a few tweaks that would make it outstanding.
Thanks for all the work that you all have done, and all the time that you have devoted to creating a user-friendly (dirty word!) interface, so we don't have to kow-tow to ALL of Microsoft's demands. I sincerely hope to see these changes in the near future, as well as seeing what else Mozilla has in store!
Thanks for all you have done,
Mike
