    Tie-Breaking Question
We are using your software to track a basketball tournament over the Christmas break. The format consists of a number of 4 team divisions. The 4 teams play each other in a round-robin format and the top two teams then play each other in a Championship game.

My concern is tie-breaking. It is highly probable that we will have some divisions needing a 2 team tie break and others need a 3-team tie break. Our 2-team tie break is based on who won the head-to-head match. Our 3-team tie break is based on (PF-PA) from only the games involving the 3 teams tied.

Is there any way these two breaking rules can be implemented - both two team and three team rules simultaneously?

    Upload Areas in ITWEBMASTER
I have noticed that when using ITWebmaster and uploading files, there are several upload areas that are not obvious to me what their use is.

In particular, the upload area for our club shows an area called "nobot documents file" and also "current player pictures".

Could someone tell me what these are sued for and how they might be accessed?

    Thanks!

Kelly, instead of completing the process twice, what about a single registration but creating a registration note which lists the various divisions that they are willing to help out in?

I am just not sure if there is a note type available which provides a list of options and allows selection of more than one option?

Thanks, Kelly. That is good news!

Let me throw a spin on this and ask...let's suppose a parent is registering 2 kids, one in mini and one in bantam. The parent is willing to help out as a coach in either of their kid's divisions.

How would this work with online registration - would the parent have to register to the volunteer role of coach twice - once for each division?

    Volunteers Assigned to Categories?
Another quick question / suggestion...as you know the online player registration process collects parents who are willing to volunteer and registers them to an appropriate volunteer role. Is it possible (perhaps via the online reg setup) that volunteer role registrations could also have an associated category, rather than registering to "No Category"?

The reason I ask is that let's say we get offers from 50 people who are willing to coach. Quite often, we look through this list and all we have is a name. Since volunteers always coach their kids, we need to find out who their kids are and how old (which age category). Clearly, we can always get this information but it would be nice if they could be somehow linked.

Perhaps this is a development idea if it's not currently possible.

    Thanks,

    Mike
Michael - if you create a page under a team folder and check the admin box, this page (as far as I know) is only viewable through the Member's area for registered team officials. I think you can think of it as a "secure web page".

However, this Admin checkbox also exists for pages created under a Divisions folder as well as "Pages Unassigned" folder and for the life of me, I can't figure out how this functionality works.

I am hoping someone at ITSN can provide insight.

Thanks David! I think I know how to set this up now. Correct me if I'm wrong but if a team home page is created and that team is registered to a Division that their League or Governing Body owns, then the team home page can only be found on the League web site; not their Club's web site. Is this correct?

Also interested in understanding the use of an admin page when created under a division. For example, see the attached figure which shows an admin page I created but can''t seem to figure out how it's accessed via the Member's area.

    Cheers!

    Team Home Pages with ITSN?
I am curious if there is the possibility of using your product to allow team officials to maintain a "team" web site? Can this be done via a Member's login somehow, as long as they are registered as a team offical?

    Any advice would be great!

    Thanks,

Thanks, David! Along the same lines as my question 1 above, perhaps you or a support person could also comment on the Admin checkbox that is available to select when you "Add a page" under a Division folder as well as under a Team Folder.

    Members Area Confusion
I have a couple questions regarding the members area.
    (1) I have read that a way to create private pages in the members area is to go to ITWebMaster and create a page in the folder "Pages Unassigned", checking the Admin checkbox. I have done this, but nothing shows up in the Members area, regardless of the registered RoleType. I am wondering if someone can tell me if I'm doing something wrong.

    (2) When uploading documents, I read that they can be uploaded to the Members folder rather than the main area. However, there does not seem to be any difference between these two upload areas in terms of creating document links from the members area. Is there supposed to be different functionality built into these 2 upload areas?

    Thanks in advance!

David, this is good news as I've done exactly what you describe for our recent Spring League. I left the ITSN owned "Divisions" folder hidden and created a new set of flyouts for our various divisions that "link up" appropriately. I did this as I wanted web visitors who clicked on my division to go to a true home page for announcements, updates, etc rather than to the standings page. This was very easy to do and other ITSN users who might be reading this can view what I've done at -

    http://www.slambasketball.ca/league.p...

There is also a cool slide show with music there - again, easy to do with ITSN's product and I will gladly help others who are interested in the same!

I am interested in details for beta testing...I will contact Sara.

Lastly, this is a neat forum for discussions and very useful...I hope it gains momentum!

    I appreciate the help

    Mike
Thanks, David. That clears things up...but can i take this 1 step further. Does that mean it is only ever possible to display schedules and standings on our website for 1 season at a time (the current web season)?? Or will links to a season that has been archived still work...thus permitting display of schedules and standings for more than 1 season (like a Spring League AND a Fall/Winter season) at a time??
