A comment on the question "Minimap not functional" in Minimap:
Would you believe that when I opened it to check the lat/lng, it opened normally without a problem? Both the sidebar and the tab functions are working properly. Not sure what was wrong, but I really appreciate your looking into it for me. Thank you – Mike, on September 15, 2008 22:17

Not a problem, please feel free to deal with it as you have time.
This morning (after last night's Java update, for some reason), I'm getting a lighter gray frame with the "Powered by Google" logo in the bottom right hand corner, "Terms of Use" in the lower left corner; but still no map, just the gray box in the upper right hand corner.
Clicking on the TOU arrow box opens up a white-bordered box in the lower right hand corner, but there's nothing in it. Clicking on the Google logo opens up a new Firefox window that loads Google Maps.
I forgot to mention that clicking on the Map Preview option still works. It's just the sidebar and tab that don't generate a map image.
Whoa...
Clicking on one of the addresses that I saved in the lower frame brought up the map! It's the world map, and I can zoom in to my addresses, but it doesn't load automatically when I open the side bar.
Clicking on the TOU arrow box opens up a smaller version of the world map (smaller as in a smaller portion, not scale).
The first time I clicked on one of the addresses, the world map had a number of traffic light symbols on it (in the USA). The symbols were not there the subsequent times I opened the sidebar.
Tab view seems to be working in the same manner.
Weird...

Thanks, Tony. I tried opening a tab and using the shift/click-on-refresh, but it didn't remove the block.
I had also deleted several old Java permissions in Outpost, for plug-in version Java Plug-in 1.6.0_03 (I'm running v. 1.6.0_05), but I'd assumed that they were artifacts of the updated Java plug-in and not needed.
I'm not sure if that would have affected minimap or not.

Mike asked a question in Minimap on September 07, 2008 14:43:
Minimap not functionalI was working with Outpost firewall last night and moved several Google entries over to the blocked category. When I tried to use minimap later it loads, but I get a small gray box in the upper right hand corner of the map frame and the red crosshatch in the center of the map area, but no map. I restored the entries back to the allowed category, but minimap is still not working. I uninstalled/reinstalled it, tried closing down Outpost, even turned off Noscript (maps.stcstm.org is allowed), no change. Any ideas?
