Mike Rouse reported a problem in IntenseDebate on October 05, 2009 09:48:
Clean import does not import comments from wp-comments tableI now effectively have two comments systems. I have my default wp_comments table in the database, which has a number of comments awaiting moderation and then I have the ID system which also has comments awaiting moderation. It seems that some comments in the default wp_comments table are not being synchronised to IntenseDebate.
I clicked the option that reads:
"If you're experiencing import/sync problems you can do a clean import to see if that fixes it (duplicates will be skipped)."
But this does not do anything (or so it seems). There is no error message or success message, it just reloads the page. Here is the URL:
http://intensedebate.com/resetWPImpor...
If you run that in your browser you get "true" and that's it.
I tried resetting the plugin and waiting 3 hours for the comments to be re-imported, but I still have comments in the wp_comments table that are not in the ID system. I also have a few comments where it says there are, for example, 4 replies, but when you click to expand you can only see between 1 and 3.
Thanks,

John Redwood's Diary - Replies to Comments Not ShowingA visitor to the blog has reported that they are led to believe there are 4 replies to their original comment, however when they click the link to expand the view of these replies there is only 1 reply showing. When we checked this morning this number had gone up to 3, but obviously still not correct.

We are raising this issue with IntenseDebate and will post an outcome as soon as we can.
Thanks for your patience. Please use this thread to post any more examples of comments not functioning in the way that you would expect them to.

John Redwood Comments MissingWhen visiting John Redwood's blog there are no or very few comments visible.
This is because we are currently migrating comments to the Intense Debate system for commenting on blogs, which will improve functionality, reliability and make it easier for comments to be managed over the long-term. It also provides a valuable back-up facility for the some 25,000 comments in the blog's database.
We are currently synchronising the comments between the old comments database and the new one that is powered by IntenseDebate, which takes some time. During the synchronisation process it is not possible for comments to be shown on any blog posts, but don't worry because they will re-appear as soon as they've finished synchronising.
We hope you will like the new system and would be delighted to get your feedback: good or bad.
Thanks for your patience this weekend; we've had a lot of maintenance to carry out on the blog and some of it will have caused a little disruption for which we are sorry if this has inconvenienced you.

Comments say they are awaiting moderation, but they've already been approvedComments say on public site that they are awaiting moderation, but show up as approved in WordPress and on the Intense Debate dashboard
When a comment gets approved on either the WordPress or IntenseDebate dashboard we've noticed that sometimes they say on the public site that they are still awaiting moderation by one of the admins.
The only way it seems possible to get these comments to show up is to hit the little thumbs up icon. When the page is refreshed the comments then appear.

Multiple Past Employment for Self AssessmentI have multiple "employers" in a financial year who pay me net and would like to record each of them, but the Self-Assessment form only allows me to record one. I can get the totals to come out correctly by fudging the figures for gross and tax paid to be the total spanning all employments not just the one listed. For fullness I would like to be able to record the amounts from each employment individually.-

Thanks for the swift response Olly. I think what I will do is actually set up a new account and run both for a period of time. I still have some things to do on what will be the legacy account, but once these are done I can close that account. I can use the import tools in the new account to regenerate contacts. From there it's not too much work for me to set up any cross-over projects again.
Mike Rouse asked a question in FreeAgent Central on February 13, 2009 10:50:
Upgrading to Limited Company from Existing Freelance-level AccountI am currently using Freeagent Central as a freelancer, but want to go LTD company. I want to have a fresh start with the LTD company and will be getting a new bank account and am migrating all my previous freelance clients into the LTD company, which is also taking on clients from other freelancers who are moving on.
I don't know if it is best to get a new Freeagent Central account and start from scratch, leaving the old one for archive only or whether I should contact the nice people at Freeagent Central and ask them to upgrade my account to a LTD company account. It would be handy to keep projects, contacts, etc, and just add the new LTD company bank account; in effect doing both my personal/past stuff and the new LTD stuff in one account.
Is this possible? What's the best option?
