Gmail Duplication IssueGmail Duplication Issue
Is there a way that Thunderbird would not duplicate the tagged emails but instead "symlink" to emails in all mail folder? I might be wrong about this, I have to do more research but I am going to make an assumption that the Mozilla's staff already knows this and probably am not going to do this due to the possible complicity it adds to their code.
My current understanding of how Gmail works is this (might be wrong), every email in a gmail account is stored inside the single "All Mail" folder except for trash, sent, and drafts. What separates each email is the associated "tag" header that is appended to each email after gmail receives it. So why can't an email client process each incoming email, read the "tag" and place it in the folder? This would remove the possibility that the email client will download every email in each folder, including all mail which would duplicate any emails that it already has from the other tags folders, increasing to the massive mail storage and screwing up the search and index as now it has duplicates to deal with.
Just wondering what Mozilla thinks about this.

Vertical View does not work at all. Nothing shows up when changing to vertical view.
Update: I was able to get it to work when the Inbox is selected first and everything shows up. Once everything is showed up, changing to vertical works.
However if you were in other area other than Inbox, nothing shows up.-

A comment on the idea "RSS sync with Google reader" in Postbox:
Don't understand what is the problem with adding RSS. If you have no use for it, turn it off. It is not like the company is going to force you to use it. Most mail clients already support RSS due to the fact that RSS are commonly used at same time with email because people would like to share their RSS item with other people.
I do agree that bloating an application with useless features is bad but as long as the company does it right and allow the options to turn off features that'll reduce the memory footprint, it should be fine. – MikhailT, on February 04, 2009 05:25-
