A comment on the question "Option to remove specific containers from the HUD" in The Cosmic Machine:
The reason for the inconsistent word was because there was no space. If we used the full wording it would make the pref pane look unbalanced. – Milen Dzhumerov, on March 01, 2009 12:43

Milen Dzhumerov replied on February 25, 2009 23:21 to the idea "The HUD should be a Dashboard Widget" in The Cosmic Machine:
I believe we had a restriction for shortcuts that they had to contain at least one modifier key which was lifted in the development build.
There are quite a few users who don't use Dashboard and also use the HUD, again, different people have different opinions / usage patterns. Re-implementing the HUD panel for Dashboard would be a *net* waste of resources. Re-iterating, a subset of the people will probably use it in Dashboard but in general we would be duplicating functionality which is already there.
Please understand that we have a limited availability of resources and it's important that we focus on fixing things / implementing new features.

A comment on the idea "Text Area resizer is "too much" & dock badge." in The Cosmic Machine:
The current badges are provided by the OS, that's why you cannot find files to replace. I've filed improvement requests for both of your questions. – Milen Dzhumerov, on February 23, 2009 09:54
Milen Dzhumerov replied on February 23, 2009 09:45 to the idea "Text Area resizer is "too much" & dock badge." in The Cosmic Machine:
I think we experimented with the HUD splitter and it seemed that it looked better with the background behind the dot. I'll give it another go for the release after next (next release is currently frozen feature-wise).
Regarding dock badges, I'm not aware of mechanisms to provide custom ones (as in a standard way that works across apps, like dock badge themes). Does something like this exist or do you know of any other apps that provide theming support for the dock badges? It would be a better idea to implement it a in compatible way in the future in order to avoid duplication.
