We've got a ticket filed in our database but I can't really promise anything. The problem is that we cannot modify our architecture to use the standard scrolling mechanism because it would mean that we would have to rewrite the whole interface part (which can easily take many months). Our other option is to get in touch with developers of Smart Scroll and see what we can do about it. Realistically, we've got much bigger problems and features which need fixing / doing so SmartScroll is definitely a low priority issue for us. I'll keep the ticket around and see if I can do anything about it when we've got a little bit spare time. I hope you understand. – Milen Dzhumerov, on April 07, 2009 18:04

We have a feature request filed to improve the easy / speed of adding people to smart folders. There are other factors we need to take into account before we do that (technical problems, integration problems).

We're aware of this problem and it's on our list of things to fix. The only workaround for the moment is to keep the number of posts in GR to a low number (ie locally delete posts which you're not interested in).

I've been prototyping the new architecture for the main view which is less memory intensive. We've done some internal tests and memory usage went down from 400MB to about 40MB constant. Obviously, this is all preliminary and just a prototype architecture but I'm quite confident that we will be able to get this to production quality. Solving the mem usage problem is our next task and the reason it's taking longer is because we're rewriting a big and complex portion of the app in order to accommodate the changes.

The reason is a technical one. We use a different custom events view as the main view for EventBox.

Have you got the option to automatically insert @username on? If yes, then just select the tweet using the arrow keys and focus the input box (Command-I by default). If you have it turned off, then I can suggest typing an @ and then pressing Escape for auto-completion.

The reason is that during a sync session, the entire unread list is downloaded (there is no other way to figure out what's changed on the GR side). So even though only 2 new articles are added, all the currently unread articles have to be re-downloaded.
