A comment on the question "Any plans to sync with Newsgator?" in The Cosmic Machine:
I understand your frustration but it's better if we spend our limited resources providing new functionality instead of duplicating existing one.
As far as I can see, the only valid argument for requesting NewsGator support at the moment is the non-existence of a free GR client for the iPhone. – Milen Dzhumerov, on March 27, 2009 02:11

DMs don't get fetched as often as the others but when you actually send a DM, it's forced to fetch them. Can you try to force a refresh on Twitter next time that happens (using Command-R) or just relaunching EB. If the message appears on relaunch, it means it's our problem otherwise it means it's a problem with the servers.

There is a problem with your network setup for some unknown reason. Contact us at cm-support to get a refund. I should also note that it's always better to use email to get official support from us (whereas GetSatisfaction is more of a community support place). – Milen Dzhumerov, on March 26, 2009 19:54

A comment on the problem "HUD turns opaque white?!?" in The Cosmic Machine:
If you want to send a private message, just prepend d to the beginning of the message. For example, to send a direct message to the user test_user, write the following:
d test_user my message – Milen Dzhumerov, on March 25, 2009 23:33

My guess would be that you use a machine which doesn't official support Core Image. You can find the supported graphics cards on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Core_Image

Just to check, what is the currently selected container? Because if it's not the Twitter container, then we cannot show "the input field" because there is no input field in the Flagged / Unread / etc smart folders. These folders are not associated with a particular service so there is no way to determine whether to show an input box for Twitter, Facebook, upload box for Flickr, etc.
