Software updates?

I've just installed Jolicloud on my netbook, and I've noticed that the software versions that are available for installation through Jolicloud are... old. Vlc is 0.x and not 1.x, Wine is ancient, Firefox is 3.x and not 3.5, and so on. How often do you update the apps? And if I update them manually, will it break updates through Jolicloud interface?

The settings (http://beta.last.fm/settings/account) page looks broken. Buttons and corresponding text do not form a group.

cannot verify my mobile number!

when I first registered to twitter, I activated my old phone number without problems. but I changed it some time ago, and now I get no sms reply and nothing changes on the website. I now use a relatively new mobile provider (VIP), so is that the reason?
