    Hi Nathalie,

We have two competitions running on Wego at the moment - one for residents of Australia, and one for residents of ASEAN countries.

Since you're not seeing a country selector, I'm guessing you're looking at our Australian contest. Since this one is only open to Australian residents, and is only being shown either to Australian IP addresses, or on Wego.com.au, we figured there was no point asking for country since the answer for everyone would be Australia.

Just your nearest International airport will see you in the running for your choice of amazing holiday adventure. To help out, the direct link to the contest for Australian residents is http://www.wego.com/contests/entourage/

If by some chance you're not in Australia, but are resident in an ASEAN country, you can check out our VIP Phuket getaway here http://www.wego.com/vipgetaway/

Hope that helps, and good luck!

    Cheers,

    Hi Peta,

Thanks for the very detailed review. One important point to note though is that at Wego, we don't actually recommend hotels - we help you find the best price, and we also let you know what other travellers think of hotels through our hotel satisfaction rating.

The hotel you're mentioning is currently ranked #593 out of 594 hotels in Melbourne. I'm not sure if you found the hotel through Wego? Or if you're just wanting to let people know about your experience.

    regards,

    Hi Belinda,

Thought you would be interested to know that we just got a special in from Lufthansa from Singapore to Europe that IS valid at the time you want to travel, and it's only $889 per adult - see details at the bottom of this reply.
It goes on sale tomorrow, but only until 04 May, so book quickly.

Also, some more details on the KLM issue - after a little CSI it appears that when we sent requests for pricing to KLM that included children, they simply ignored the childrens fare requests, and sent us back the cost for the adults, which we then divided by the total number of people travelling, thus making the fare look much lower than it should have been. We've alerted KLM to this problem, and they're working on it. In the meantime, we've put a fix in place to make sure that we don't display incorrect pricing on Wego. Our apologies for any inconvenience.

Here's the link for the Lufthansa $889 special to Europe .

    Hi Belinda,

I'm sorry you're frustrated! That's certainly not our aim. As I mentioned to Pieter, the prices we show on our Airfares pages are the lowest price we've seen for flights between those two cities, in the last 7 days. Because we take this information from the tens of thousands of searches run on Wego every week, chances are high that the lowest price will tend to be either a) during low season (normally Feb/Mar and Oct/Nov to Europe) or b) when the airlines are running short-term specials. We've recently had short terms specials from Singapore to Europe with KLM, Air France, Lufthansa and Emirates (which is still running, and is only $737rtn from Singapore to Germany), all of which required you to finish your travel before the end of June.

Sadly late July / Early August is the peak time for travel to Europe, so fares will tend to be more expensive at this time. That's when the highest number of people wish to go, and the airlines like to charge accordingly. If you *must* travel in this 6-week period, it will be significantly more expensive.

On the positive side, there have been a lot of good airfare specials around over the last few months, so hope is not lost. Most of them are only on sale for a short period of time, so a good way to keep advised about these is through our weekly deals newsletter - there's also the added bonus that if you sign up at the moment, you'll be in the running for a $20,000 holiday adventure for 4, and you could take your family to Italy, Egypt, Costa Rica, Sailing in Greece, or on safari in Africa! Just go to wego.com.au for details.

In terms of what's one of the best specials at the moment for what you're wanting to do, we just got a special in with Cathay Pacific (Skytrax's airline of the year, 2009) to Europe that is valid for departures from 16 August (not sure how flexible you can be with your dates?) for $1486, which would fit your budget. Several other airlines also drop their prices substantially on the 16th of August, including Thai, and Qantas.

So I guess you're wondering why we don't put up prices for all departure dates on our Airfares pages? Simply because the amount of information we'd need to put on the page to do that would mean unbearably long load times, or page crashes. For the best flight pricing for specific dates, our flights search engine will check prices from dozens of airlines and travel agencies to find the lowest prices for when you wish to travel. If you need to travel on the dates you've stated, the cheapest flights from Singapore to Frankfurt at the moment are about $1179AUD (Lufthansa, non-stop). If you can get a cheap flight on Tiger to Singapore, that still may be quite a bit cheaper than the $2000+ fares from Perth.

I hope that helps in some way.

    regards,

    Hi Pieter,

Just to further follow up on this, I ran a few price checks on www.wego.com/flights for some random dates to compare the prices we are displaying vs those that you would end up paying when you went through to KLM.com Here's the results:

All flights are for Geneva to Tokyo Narita, and all prices are in ChF

Out 21 May, Rtn 10 Jun Wego shows 1354, KLM.com final price 1353.50
Out 05 Aug, Rtn 28 Aug Wego shows 1544, KLM.com final price 1543.50
Out 07 Oct, Rtn 28 Oct Wego shows 1354, KLM.com final price 1353.50

Again, if you've seen something different, please let us know so we can investigate.

    cheers

    Hi Pieter,

Sorry - let me explain a bit more. That price is the lowest price we have seen for a search on that route (Geneva to Tokyo, on KLM) over the last 7 days. It may have been that someone searched for a flight during low season, and you want to travel at a more expensive time. Airfares vary throughout the year, often by a great margin. Airlines also manage their inventory tightly, so may lower prices when they have empty seats, and raise prices as flights fill up. It may well be that you are looking to travel at a peak time of year, or on popular dates. This will of course mean that the price the airline wishes to charge you is higher than they will charge at some other, less popular time.

Consider a hotel room at a ski resort. If you stay there early in autumn, when it is no longer the sumer holidays, and there is no snow, the room will probably be cheaper than it would be if you wish to stay between Christmas and New Year. We will tell you the cheapest price we have seen for that hotel (the same way we do for flights) in the last week. If someone searched during that early autumn, we will indicate a lower price, because that IS the lowest price we have seen for that hotel recently. We work the same way with flights.

There is no trickery going on here - the prices we see are real prices from real searches by our users who do thousands of searches for flights and hotels every day. You may be able to get a lower price by travelling at a different time from when you planned.

At Wego, we don't discriminate against anyone based on age, or on gender, how frequently they travel, religion, or anything else.

If you are really seeing a diffrernt price in a search return on Wego from the price go are asked for by the airline when you reach their site (some airlines charge fees for paying by credit cards that they don't include when they send us their prices, but these are usually only a small amount), please let us know the dates you were searching on, so that we can talk to our airline partners to find out why the information they are sending us is wrong, and get them to fix it.

    Hi Pieter,

The KLM price you found on our site from Geneva to Tokyo does indeed come from a real price. We store the prices we see based on user searches across the Wego network, and then we show you the best prices we've seen for each route in the past 7 days. So yes, that price is real. What it doesn't take into account though, is the time of year, length of trip, and exact dates that you need or want to travel on. That's why we also have a search box at the bottom of the page, so you can run a live search, and find the best available prices for the dates that you want to travel. You can also search at http://www.wego.com/flights

Sorry for the frustration - I hope this explanation makes it a bit clearer for you. Thanks for using Wego.

    Hi Lisa,

Sorry to hear about your PSP, but you've posted this on Wego.com - we're a travel search engine, not the actual airline. Good luck with getting in touch with the airline directly - they're the ones that can hopefully fix your problem.

    Hi Belinda,

Could you give us some more specifics about this, like the route you were searching and the dates, as well as the partner site you were transferred to? It may be that in the brief time between searching for the flights on wego and arriving on the airline or travel agent site that the flight or class has sold out, but that's fairly uncommon. Some more details will help us to look into this for you.

    Cheers,
