I need to try and bottom out what is going on here, so forgive if you have done all this:
When you drag and drop the address, or add it by using the add address toolbar button (minimap sidebar, top right), does that come up in china as well?
If so then it is a problem with the Google geocoder and outwith my control. You can help minimap out a little by tweaking the geocoder used. Default is maps.google.com, but you can go to minimap's options and change to your locale, for example maps.google.es
If it adds ok to the addresslist, and clicking on the addresslist item pans to correct place, then make sure to right click on the addresslist item and choose set as default address and set as map home from the context menu, rather than manually inputting.

minimap replied on December 09, 2008 19:33 to the question "minimap and other addons keep displaying their homepages or ask to agree conditions every time when starting firefox" in Minimap:
Sorry to hear that, it has certainly not been designed to do that. Minimap is designed to show you that page whenever you upgrade so that you know what has changed. It shows once, then goes away until the next upgrade.
It would seem that, given it effects other addons as well, that there is a problematic addon that is affecting all the others (I am 99.9% sure it is not Minimap as this is the first time I have heard of such an issue), or you accidentally set your home page to all these welcome pages?

Hi Dolt
It would appear that the geoDiscovery part of Minimap conflicts with twiki tables. I have tried to namespace my code as much as possible to avoid conflicts with websites, but I have no control of the sites javascript.
In the upcoming 0.3.9 release, users will be able to turn off geoDiscovery in the options, which will allow you to use twiki tables.
Cheers, Tony

Hi Rob
That's by design, as I say in last comment. If the href points to maps.google, maps.yahoo or maps.live then the context menu will show as it is a supported link type. If the href points to a non mapping site, then it will not show.
If you select text, then it will show Locate: xxxx, or if no text or link is selected, it will just allow you to open up minimap.
