Yes Mitch, you should use quotation marks to enclose everything you don't want Sandy to interpret and leave as is.

I have a contact whose last name is "Mon." How do I get Sandy to not parse her name as a date? Is there a way of using quotation marks or some such? (This problem originated in a mobile message I sent Sandy, but I'd imagine I'll have the same problem with email.)
