Just created a new synth (with 164 photos) and without problems it finished. So it looks like you can just retry and see if your synth finishes as well.

Issue at publishing stage

I created 2 synth successfully, but now it keeps on stopping at the end, after uploading my pictures at "Publishing synth". Any idea what is causing that?
