OK, the first issue is IE only, but it does affect 6 and 8. Whew! I was at work when I came across the issue, and it's a Windows network. At home I checked it with a variety of Webkit and Mozilla browsers, and it works as intended, no problems.
I would still like some help on the second issue though. Thanks
Michael Lankton asked a question in IntenseDebate on October 31, 2009 17:55:
IntenseDebate kills AdSense on article pagesJust like the title says. Front page and category pages display fine, but any page displaying the ID interface kills the Adsense breadcrumb at the top of the content and pushes the bottom AdSense unit, which displays in a separate module below the content, up to where the breadcrumb is supposed to be. May not be ID's fault, as Disqus and JS-Kit do the same thing. The site is valid HTML 5/XHTML 1.0 Strict, so I don't get what could be causing it. Any ideas how to fix it, like maybe enclosing ID so that it doesn't take over content that follows it? Then again, the other modules below the content are not affected. Must be some weird JS issue. Joomla 1.5
Also, ID is not displaying my comments by article title, but by article url. If I go to my ID profile page, one article (the one the ID widget in my side bar displays) does correctly show the comments by title, but all other comments are listed by url. Not the end of the world, but ugly and would like to fix it. Any way to fix this?
Thanks
A comment on the question "Refund?" in JS-Kit:
Igor,
JS-Kit's use of permalink an uniq break strict validation, period. This is regardless of platform. Bad html is bad html. Now, I would alter the PHP the Joomla plugin I use for this myself, but without permalink and uniq JS-Kit does not show comment counts.
This is not acceptable for a premium solution when the two big free solutions (IntenseDebate and Disqus) both work and both validate.
On top of that, after the 60 minute I spent with JS-Kit I know that it does not suit my needs. The moderation section does not allow changing timestamps or editing user's comments. The other solutions do, so why would I pay for a solution that is less powerful?
All in all I am very disappointed that I paid for a product I will not use. You guys need a free trial. $12 is not the end of the world, but nevertheless I could have used that $12 on something that would have been useful to me. JS-Kit isn't. I would have been happy to pay for a product that did what I needed it to, but instead I have a bad taste in my mouth because the free solutions offer more.
Have fun with my $12 since you've ignored my email for a refund. I guess that's what I get for trying a product with no trial. – Michael Lankton, on October 29, 2009 17:21

How much longer? I like having a default avatar that matches my site as opposed to the "Mystery Man". I bailed on Disqus due to a problem their non-existent support wouldn't address. Now I am switching back and forth between ID and JS-Kit, because neither is exactly what I want. I like that I can edit comments in ID, which JS-Kit doesn't allow. Being able to set a site specific guest avatar would be the icing on the cake, and I would commit to IntenseDebate.
Thanks

I just signed up. I have used JS-Kit for less than 30 minutes. I would like my $12 back. JS-Kit breaks the validation of my website. That is a dealbreaker for me. Since it isn't code I can fix, loading remotely from you guys, I have no control over this.
This software is no good to me if it breaks my validation.

I like the default avatar option Disqus has. I use an icon that matches my site's logo for the people who are too lame/too anonymity-conscious. I am having problems with Disqus and their non-existent tech support isn't helping. This would be the straw that got me to switch to IntenseDebate, please consider adding the feature.
