I am running Ubuntu 9.04 with a songbird build 1.2, and all the controls work correctly when I tunnel X over to another machine. I'm not using putty (i'm going from one Ubuntu system to another) but minimize/restore/maximize works just fine. The issue that I am having is the player to pops up remotely but when music is played it comes from the speakers on server side, not from the client.

Were you ever able to get music to play on the client side?
