Unable to install outlook conncetor with roaming profile + folder redirectionI am trying to install the outlook connector on my Vista SP2 laptop at work. I have administrator rights, and my roaming user profile is set up using folder redirection (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc732275(WS.10).aspx). I get this error message when I try and install:
Failed to open the XML file \\AMSDC1is001C\<myusername>$\Cached\AppData(Roaming)\Soocial\Outlook\Settings.xml , system error: -2147024786

Contact pictures not synchronisedMost of my Outlook (2007) contacts have photos - but these are not synchronised to Gmail
mnbf9rca replied on May 25, 2009 11:15 to the problem "Outlook sync installer on Windows 7 reports a non-compatible OS" in Soocial:
"We know. That's what we have communicated on the clients download page" - what a great reply to testers volunteering their time to provide you with free product testing and usability feedback! It may be factually correct, but perhaps something more friendly is better - this sounds like the sort of reply you expect from Microsoft or Symantec ;-)
That aside - surely you are looking for feedback from users on Windows 7 so that you're prepared for it when it launches in a few months time???
BTW - setting compatability mode to "run this program in compatibility mode for: previous version of windows" allows it to install fine.
mnbf9rca replied on January 26, 2009 09:57 to the question "How do I set up postbox to open my corporate outlook email?" in Postbox, Inc.:
I really thikn you're missing something here - people don't just use Outlook for email, it's most people's daily workflow tool - calendar, tasks, email etc. As i say in my other post, to be successful in the corporate market, you need to enhance Outlook, as you will find it hard to compete. BUild an Outlook plug-in!

How to lose your entire report: use OpenID or Live ID!when you're not signed in and you create a new suggestion/problem/idea etc, you are only asked to sign in at the end. The problem is that if you use an OpenID or LiveID, you lose your entire report!

outlook plug-in?Your product will only gain traction in enterprise environments if it either replaces outlook, or operates within it. I woudl suggest that you develop an Outlook plug-in. Not many companies use gmail for their email!-
