Recording VAT

I would like to be able to record the VAT cost of an item that I record in expense'd. It's like sales tax in the US and appears on all receipts where the tax is payable. In certain circumstances I can claim it back, so it's important to have a record. The breakdown would be as follows

Item(s) Subtotal: £319.47
Postage & Packing: £0.00
Total before VAT: £319.47
VAT: £47.92
Total: £367.39

In a perfect world I'd like to record the Item Subtotal in the existing amount field and then optionally enter VAT in a second field (if I'd paid it) and then have expens'd total them for me.

I've just noticed that everywhere I've typed "& pound" it's displayed the £ sign. I hope this all makes sense!

When I download my expens'd report as a PDF I have two problems, first, some of the columns (for instance the date column) aren't wide enough to display the contents and second, in the amount column the £ sign is showing as £ instead.

Tripit synch doesn't work properly for rail journeys

I'm trying to log a tube ticket expense against a rail journey from Tripit, but all of my rail journeys are listed as 'Your Rail' so I can't tell which one to pick. Can this be altered please?
