Both Banshee and Songbird are plagued by this problem. Updates to the iPod plugins very soon is in order!

I have the same problem, but it's Skype, not pulseaudio. If you install the Pulseaudio device chooser and set your mic source (whatever that may be, e.g. a usb webcam) as default under that, everything SHOULD work. All other audio recording software I have runs perfectly fine, so I don't see why it's such a pain for the Skype developers to ensure their software is usable on linux.

I only ONCE got 2.1 beta to make a test call that worked. Junk.

My iPod 4G video doesn't seem to sync, though it is detected, and it takes a REALLY long time to mount (like at least 5 min.) This is in Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 using Songbird 1.2.

Do you think deleting the iPod_Control folder on the iPod would help? (This got my 1G shuffle to work.)

Yeah, this is pretty essential. It's annoying that some "export playlist" add-on has to be installed (which occupies space with a button) just to get total playlist time.

It doesn't work for my, I think, 2nd generation (white stick) iPod shuffle. AFAIK it did work with my 4th or 5th gen. video iPod. This is a bit lame. I'm on Ubuntu 9.04.
