A comment on the question "Publishing Problem" in Yola:
There seems to have been a bug with the publishing of your site. It should be working now. Sorry about this! If it ever happens again, please let us know. – Monique, on November 05, 2009 08:14
A comment on the update "Hey Yola users, how do you prepare to build a site?" in Yola:
Excellent suggestions, Dennis. We are planning something very much along these lines and hope to release it in the first half of next year. – Monique, on November 04, 2009 19:29
Monique replied on November 04, 2009 19:14 to the question "Publishing Problem" in Yola:
Hi Cynthia
It sounds to me like your site is already published and you only need to update it. You do this by clicking the yellow "Update my Site" button. You shouldn't have to worry with the publishing settings at this point.
If this is not working for you, please tell me what your domain name is so I can investigate further.

Cut yourself some slack! Perfectly natural thing to do! I am just glad Lee was able to solve your problem! They don't call him The Duke for nothing :) – Monique, on November 03, 2009 20:49
Monique replied on November 03, 2009 19:07 to the problem "Getting fed up with Yola." in Yola:
Lee has given a very good suggestion.
I had a look at the page and it also looks to me like the images where copied and pasted from an external source, rather than uploaded to your Yola file manager. You have other images that you have added as resources hosted on your own site (by uploading them directly) and those seem to be displaying as expected. You should use the same method for all your images.
If this doesn't solve your problem, please let us know.
A comment on the question "site coming up as unverified on goggle search engine" in Yola:
I don't see Yola "washing their hands on the subject." Kershnee is simply admitting, quite correctly, that we do not currently have a way to upload a file to the root directory. Since this is the verification method required by Norton Safe Web we don't have a solution right now. We have brought this requirement to the attention of our developers so that they are aware that customers have this need and can look into making provision for it. I really would like to simply solve this right away but none of us have the ability to just change the way Yola works or persuade another company to change their policies. Apart from asking our developers to find a way to address this requirement, is there anything else you would like me to do? Let me know, and if it is at all within the scope of my abilities I will certainly do it! – Monique, on November 03, 2009 18:35

A comment on the question "site coming up as unverified on goggle search engine" in Yola:
I am a bit mystified at this comment. I have reread this thread over and over and I can't find anywhere where this is referred to as an "issue". There is the original question posed by Dennis (he chose to frame it as a question, rather than a problem) and then I see Kershnee frankly admitting to not having a solution and apologizing for this. I am very familiar with the critique of referring to "problems" as "issues" as a way of trivializing them, I just can't see where that was done on this thread? Please point it out to me if I overlooked it. – Monique, on November 03, 2009 18:28

Well that is great to hear. I didn't get the latest email you refer to - more mysterious problems with email delivery I fear. But I am delighted to hear that you got things working. I hope this is the last you will see of the problem, but if not, please let us know. – Monique, on November 02, 2009 20:30

A comment on the question "Tab image missing from published site." in Yola:
No problem. You are quite correct! The site builder is case insensitive and published sites are case sensitive. This is a bug on our end and very confusing to users. It should be fixed very soon so that both environments behave in the same way. The correct behavior is for file names to be case sensitive, so the site builder will go for some "sensitivity training" so that it stops messing with people's heads! ;) There aren't any other significant differences that we are aware of, but if we come across any we will log them as bugs and then bug the developers to fix them in order to provide a consistent user experience! – Monique, on November 02, 2009 12:16

Hmmm. On closer inspection your Google Webmaster code looks a little odd. It has a dash at the beginning and some periods in the letter/number string. I haven't seen this before. I wonder if Google Webmaster is having a bug. Can you email me the full code they provided you so I can check this further? Deleting the Webmaster code and trying again might solve the problem. I can help with this if you like. – Monique, on November 01, 2009 19:15
A comment on the question "Not publishing!!!" in Yola:
Hi Sandra. I see that Emmy replied to your previous email and she is waiting on feedback from you. Your site is published but it doesn't work if you type it in with the "www" So you need to type theoracle.org.uk and then your site will come up. This would be a result of how you configured your DNS settings. I will reply to your latest email in support with further details of what you need to change. – Monique, on November 01, 2009 18:17
A comment on the idea "Same stuff, different page..." in Yola:
Yes, I acknowledges this in my previous post. Although many people are not aware of the "save as" feature and it is a time saver once they discover it so I thought it was worth mentioning for the sake of anyone reading this thread. I do understand that an "apply to all" feature is still needed. – Monique, on November 01, 2009 17:52
Monique replied on November 01, 2009 13:04 to the question "how can i add a trust site seal on my site?" in Yola:
Hi Debbie
Yola has integrated with a service called TRUSTe. They help you develop a privacy policy and in return you get to place their seal on your site.
You can access TRUSTe by opening the "Advanced " folder in the properties sidebar. Drag and drop the widget onto your page, go to their site to set everything up and then paste the code into the box provided and you will have your own TRUSTe seal.

I hope this allows you to achieve what you had in mind. If not, please let us know.
