Hide or Delete [Gmail] Folder When Using IMAP in Standalone Client
When subscribing to Gmail IMAP (thanks for that for the record!) in Apple Mail (or any client) the [Gmail] folder cannot be deleted, hidden or unsubscribed, even with the "Advanced IMAP Controls"
lab enabled. Would love to get rid of it!

A comment on the problem "Backblaze Lost My Data?!" in Backblaze:

    mooner
Yes, I am confident that the problem was an isolated incident. While it was incredibly frustrating experience at first, the issue was ultimately resolved so that makes it hard to whine too much. And since then the backup has been reliable and regular. I have also had other customer service experiences with BB since which have been great. – mooner, on September 11, 2009 22:07

No release notes on update link page
The second option in the dialog box shown upon Xmarks detecting a new version is a button labeled "View web page about upgrade", but clicking the link brings you to a generic download page ( https://download.xmarks.com/download/... ) that does not contain any information (or link to) such as release notes. Some of us really like to know what we're getting into!

Would be good to have them up there.

    RESOLVED

Well, the ultimate resolution was that BB refunded my two months and unfortunately could not offer any real fix other than to re-upload the data. Not ideal, but I did appreciate the refund and at least the response(s) from support.

BUT... I had been re-uploading the data (I thought) for a few days when I checked to find that things had magically gone back in place, with the app (and my account online) both reporting the full, up-to-date 170GB of data backed up! Yay! Not exactly sure how they did it (or if they realized they did ;-) but as they say, "all's well that ends well".

Barring any more incidents like this, I plan to stick with my BB subscription.

Update #3: This is the best they have to offer?! Essentially they are asking me to pay for another two months of the service just to get back to where I am in the initial upload (plus the extra energy costs of leaving my machine on all the time, which in fact costs more than the Backblaze monthly fee) without any assurance this will not happen again. Not much of a solution in my book... Here is a portion of the email:

Your data is all safely uploaded, the problem
is the index files have gotten confused and
don't know it. It is really impossible for us to
safely hand-craft your system back together,
it's safer to just re-upload all your files.

The other nice thing would be that *IF* the bug
occurs again we would have the logs, but it might
    be fixed already.

Update #2: It took directly emailing the Backblaze CTO, Brian Wilson in order to get a response, but Backblaze have officially confirmed there is an issue, and that I am not the only one experiencing it. The data has not actually been lost (thankfully) but there seems to be a bug in the system where a hug chunk (~150GB!) of the data I have already uploaded is only included in past backups, and thus the application is trying to get me to re-upload it! Obviously this is not an acceptable solution, and I am still waiting for any kind of real resolution from Backblaze.

I am certainly disappointed with their initial response time (which they have blamed on being overwhelmed with their new product launch—NOT a valid excuse in my book), the ultimate test will be if they can actually get this issue resolved. We shall see...

Update #1: It's been over 48 hours now, and the only response I have had from Backblaze is a reply to an email I sent (unintentionally) from an email address other than the one on my account, asking what email I had on my account. Once I responded with the correct email address, they have once again continued ignoring me—no update on the status of the issue or even a message confirming that someone is looking into it!

I am really baffled by the poor level of customer support...

    Backblaze Lost My Data?!
I committed to backing up my 180GB of data with the understanding that it might take a while (2 months of constant uploading), and even put up with the generally insanely slow net connection that resulted from the constant upstream. I had been humming along for almost two months, (150 / 180 GB backed up) when all of a sudden after a restart, the Backblaze Pref Pane started reporting that I only have 15GB backed up!

I immediately logged into my account online which reports the same thing. I had been watching the backup process dilligently so I know it had gotten all the way to the 150GB it was reporting just a day earlier. Also, when I log in to restore, it is obvious that a big chunk of the data is missing (my iTunes music folder for example, starts at "T"). Needless to say, as a paying customer of the service I am absolutely livid. I have written Backblaze support (one generic email address) but have yet to hear back...

Include Location Information in Search API status Object
Twitter's search API does not include a user's location information, which subsequently requires an application make a separate call to the REST API to obtain this information, which has two major ramifications:
    1. Having to get this information on a per-user basis greatly slows down an app.
    2. The number of calls made to get each user's location is often the cause of an app hitting the API rate limit.

Twitter, please include the user's current location in the Search API status object.

Yea, delicious integration is really the key for me right now. I appreciate that there may be a level of competition here but for those of us who have already invested in a sizable delicious library, integration would really make this a <buzzword>killer app</buzzword>.
