After your post I have been testing other browsers:

Raw Therapee works but it is slower than Konwertor.

XinView (latest version) doesn't support .rwz file extension; there is information about supporting in change log but in associations menu i can't find appropriate switch.

More over I tested Rawzor SDK with example program and I noticed that there wasn't any difference between extracting method in file weight (tested on Sony Alpha .arw file) – so I still suppose that browser firstly decompress .rwz file for extracting embedded .jpg from .arw (maybe it's only problem with Sony extension).

First of all I am very glad for Your fast reply and of course your work of Rawzor. In my opinion this project fulfill the gap in the lossless raw-compression standard.

For me the thumbnails aren't really important because I work with Total Commander as a shell manager. But I still need a simple and fast way to browse my photos without extracting it. Before I decided to post my idea I had tried browsers supported Rawzore extension and they had been working to slow for me. I suppose this statement is connected with methods provided in SDK. I notice that browsers should decompress raw file to have a possibility of previewing embedded image from the native .raw. When I use Konvertor to preview 100 photos compressed in Rawzor from DVD-Ram it's simply crash.

Adding a small jpeg image to the beginning of .rwz file provide a better compatibility with other browsers, users can use they favorite software and give them a chance to find desirable photo to work with in very short time. After that they still should decompress the correct one to work with they favorite post-processing software.
As a salvation of this problem you can extract embedded preview image from raw, shrink it (half resolution and medium jpeg compression = less than 100 KB) and add it as a header of the .rwz file.

I suppose that many Rawzor user will be sympathize with this idea because it's providing a very fast way to browse photos in favorite software without necessity of creating sophisticated plugins.

    Preview image for Rawzor file
Is it possible to add thumbnail and preview image to Rawzor file (eg. as a small and low resolution jpg)? I know it adds about 100KB to the final file but such improvement provide a possibility to fast browsing image without necessity of extracting it.

I try to do it be myself using an combination of “copy /b DSC06578.JPG + DSC06578.ARW.RWZ DSC06578.JPG”, but finally I only get preview but Rawzor can't extract it (of course I change extension to .rwz).
