Very interesting.
This pundit watch thing has enlightened me as to how reluctant they are to state a firm prediction.
I hope more pundits or public figure whose opinion is respected in media embrace the opportunity to maintain an account as Hollywood blogger Nikki Finke has.
Although the article has valid points regarding their comments being interpreted into direct predictions Nigel's defense is legitimate.
In my opinion the solution is for pundits to manage their own accounts on www.hubdub.com.
I would very much welcome their involvement.

Atrane; you are right in that the question was settled incorrectly, but not precisely for the reason you state.
When doubleheaders occur as a result of a postponement and scenarios such as this arise, we settle questions on the results of the game originally scheduled when the question was created. The originally scheduled game was the first game that the Rangers won but the question was settled by one of our admins on the results of the second game which the Mets won.

Nigel's reply suggests that you already took the appropriate action. When I think a question has settled incorrectly, I usually send either a "Settlement Request", or "Flag this Question", explaining my point of view to the Category Editor. Those text boxes appear pretty small, but you can enter in, or cut-and-paste, a considerable explanation there.
Opening a topic here at GetSatisfaction alerts all the _real_ Hubdub employees and we superusers to the fact that someone has an issue, so it works too. In general, GetSatisfaction is the forum of "last resort" for settlement issues. OTOH, it's a great forum for ideas about how HubDub can be improved and reporting bugs with the site.
Thanks for your thoughts,

Very sensible idea. This would make me relax a lot; but I think there should be some sort of penalty (10%-20%) so that people don't exaggerate the use of limits. To me, it would simply be a measure to hinder complete losses. At a second thought, there should be serious restrictions on these triggers. It seems too comfy to be right for the machine. – Hoernla, on June 19, 2008 09:47

Ahhhh,
I wanna have TRIGGERS on my stakes. So I can make them cashing-in whenever a certain level has been reached (either gain or loss)
And maybe TRIGGERS on the options to make stakes automatically whenever the probability get in a certain range.
That would be coooool.
When you can implement that, I can certainly do without a watch-list.

That would be great. Probably not that difficult to implement either. – InfernalMachine, on June 11, 2008 06:33

jenni, I wasn't aware of that because my questions don't get void that often ;).
It is not possible to start a new question without that special link though. That could also be helpful to create similar questions in which only details change: DIJA or sports questions for example.
There should be a button labeled "Create New Question based on this one", IMHO.
A comment on the idea "NEW and IMPROVED" in Hubdub:
actually this already exists - i don't know how long they've had it, because i rarely read my void emails, but this one did have a link to my question in the "edit" phase, so i can just make a minor change and publish. – jenniandboys, on June 10, 2008 21:33

Create a market using the data of an existing (maybe already void) market.
As randburg said: "I hope soon that an alternative will be developed by the hubdub programming crew that will allow edits or adjustments to prediction OUTCOMES without having to void a question."
I know it will not be possible to edit existing questions because of the risk of reversing the meaning of the answers. That would be a real mess.
This mechanism could be a compromise.
